i started reading the manga after s2 but haven't seen any of s3 yet. the manga was solid but only to a point, without spoiling things. i have the hope that the show will pace itself better than the manga... isayama himself has said that the anime has given him opportunities to correct such sorts of errors he found in retrospect with the original writing

Zeke wants to sterilize all Eldians so no more have to be born and the race naturally dies out. Eren is 4D chess playing right now and is going all-out for freedom, but doesn't agree with Zeke. Yet he is playing along for now, don't think Zeke knows this. If Eren is the father of Historia's child (which is really pointing to be that way), then he is obviously not on his brother's side for even more personal reasons.

Dunno Eren's full plan, haven't heard his POV much except that he wants to meet up to talk to Zeke, bashes Mikasa and Eren for being pussies and not wanting to defend their race, and flipping out on anyone who suggests he doesn't care about what happens to Historia or Paradis.

Way more complex than that of course, and we don't know 100% of everyone's motivations so far except Zeke.

The rest of the world hates the Titan Humans and usually exterminates their populace or uses them as slaves.

The Titan Humans living in Marley live in Ghettos and are brainwashed into being fanaticlly loyal. If they aren't they'll be turned into a Titan and sent to frontlines or the Walls.

Erens Father and his Wife had a son, Zeke the beast titan. Zeke betrayed them and so everyone but, Zeke was arrested and turned into Titans. Grisha survived and was given the Attack Titan by the holder Eren Kruger who wasa sympathetic to Grisha and his plight.

4 years later. Eren infiltrates Marley after their "victory" over an enemy nation. Eren meets up with Zeke and they work together to fuck Marley up. Marley unites the world in an effort to exterminate everyone inside the Walls.

Eren starts a grim reminder 2.0 and kills a lot of innocent people. The Survey Corps invade and wreck shit.

Eren eats the Warhammer Titan and Marleys navy and military is crippled. Zeke is captured but, Sasha is killed.

Eren slowly loses his mind and embraces his villainside. He starts a cult and assassinates Darius Zackley. The Yeagerists take over the Royal Government and hold the military leaders hostage.

Zeke turns all of Levis soldiers into Titans. Levi kills them and then fucks Zeke up AGAIN. Zeke goes allah ackbar and blows himself up

basically, it turns into a zero-sum game in which utilitarianism comes into conflict with eren's generic shonen existentialism (win to fight, fight to win!) on a larger social and political scale. the manga is slated to end soon, and i imagine the fanbase is fairly split on how they want to see it finish. it becomes a matter of what is good versus what is right, and it's unclear which is which.

Season 4 is up in the air because Wit Studio dropped it, which I'm completely fine with since chinks corrupted it and lured it away, Disney style. They made the decision before the most recent episodes aired so I'll bet they already regret it. Some other studio will swipe them up due to overseas market and manga sales alone.

Araki (anime) might also be disgruntled with Isayama (manga) butting heads or overseeing him in creative decisions too.

Tomorrow's episode should end with them getting to the basement and finding the photograph. Next week will be Grisha's backstory.
