I totally realize most people are going to disagree with me here but I feel compelled to say that using misogyny as jokes isn't a very kind thing to do. We have seen TONS of posts from vulnerable populations talking about how Game of Thrones and especially the character Daenerys is a source of support and strength in a dark time. The writers taking away that support randomly without any compelling build-up was not okay.
You can say I'm being silly, or humorless or reactionary. Whatever. I love discussing film and tv and I love this community. But sometimes I come home after dealing with ableism and our nightmare reality all day, and this board is one of many things that make me feel better. It isn't a good feeling to find this board filled with sexism for the sake of irony. Maybe that's laughable or pathetic. But for me, it's true. You won, you got to see a beloved female character ruined, but stop gaslighting us people who expected good writing.
That's probably how the books were supposed to go down but D&D hackified it.
