Evangelion II is a great game. The serious scenarios shows about "What would happen if the protagonist was (this character)" and how will it affect the plot. We got to see Asuka's version of episodes 25 and 26, among other lore stuff with the lore heavy scenarios: Kensuke, Kaji, a bit of Rei, and specially Kaworu.

Plus Shinji's (the show route) has a good ending which can be unlocked if he can convince Rei III to choose humanity over Lilith and save Kaworu (not letting him return to be Adam which will bring Longinus back to earth and start the Third Impact despite his wishes, which was what Seele planned).

It's a VERY old game (2003). Very good one though. Kaji, Kensuke and Kaworu scenarios are the best.

Kaji you discover more about the Second Impact with him (and Misato as his love interest): how Adam was basically raped in her slumber to cause this by Seele (who manipulated Misato's father). They condemned a lot of humanity to birth the angels, split Adam's soul and body (who never wanted an impact, they put Lilim DNA in her core this was the "Contact Experiment" which made her explode into an Impact after the spear was removed). What was hinted Misato discovered in EOE but we never saw it and why she said "The enemy was human all along."

Kensuke route is about finding out about the Marduk organization of the Children and all that. I thought he was going to get a joke one but it's actually great.

Kaworu scenario moves his involvement earlier, around when Toji was chosen pilot earlier (before Leliel), and saves Toji for him and Shinji together persuade him to stop and he realizes he has holes in his memory too. This one explores the final lore: the seeds of life. It ends with Kaworu embracing his full power as Adam, tanging Leliel, the Evas and all angels to leave the planet behind because "they were never supposed to fight. This is all wrong" and takes up the offer of third seed of life to go with him (?) into a new planet until the fruit of life/knowledge stuff gets sorted out. "Goodbye, Lilith. Goodbye, lilim. Thank you for teaching me your songs."

Evangelion II the game? It's a game that came out in 2003, name chosen by Anno because he didn't think he would make new sequels, called it sequel to Evangelion, was advertized on the same timeslot of the tvshow ads when it came out. There are more gag/lighthearted scenarios, but the serious ones are super good.

It also has some extras like affection (romantic, friendship/platonic, and something else). You can raise and get extra fanservice scenes with every character. However if you follow each character storyline, there're default levels. Misato has high romantic affection for Kaji since intro for example, so does Ritsuka->Gendo. Shinji has low romantic for Rei until you raise it (but high friendship), middle ground for Asuka and high for Kaworu (it was basically love at first sight, for both of them which matches the script about how his heart skipped a beat).

There's a joke Shinji route in addition to his main one (which is copy paste of tv show, but you access to good ending, and bad endings of different degrees, from unable to bond with Kaworu and he obeys Seele, to an angel reaching Dogma, to Rei tanging everyone - Kaworu willingly goes with her -, and EOE, which is also marked as a bad ending but not as bad as random angel or Seele becoming gods fucking over everyone else because Kaworu never met Shinji).

Kaworu is literally a mother of life who can procreate on a planetary scale, though. It's the opposite of anti breeding shit, it's breeding shit. The wrapping is just to meet Anno's subversion of expectation about the "other species" (not really but whatever) "princess" who falls for the mc troupe. Sadamoto designed Kaworu as a mix of Asuka's, Shinji's and Rei's traits originally, so it was clearly leaning on the femine side (the Rebuild one is manlier though).

Kaworu's gender went from "he's a boy!" to "genderless" because shapeshifter seed of life, user. He was only male because Anno wanted to be psychological about the ego ideal, and Kaworu being another Shinji, after he stopped the pretentiousness, he made him not male. The design can't be changed because Is too popular and iconic now. Though there are some shit he's female (like the "female angels" series, and unlike the other batch who are clones of angels+Rei's DNA, Kaworu simply changed his chromosomes). I don't care for that design because the pigtails is not how I pictured him.

If you actually realize Impacts are nothing but procreation and childbirth on planetary scope (terraform) in all technically Shinji did have sex with the Hybrid of Lilith and Adam (Adam even took over briefly to prep Shinji) in EoE. That's how a new world was born because Shinji wished and willed it, and Adam loved Shinji and Lilith loved Adam and Shinji (Rei I desired Adam, Rei II Shinji, Rei III reunites both). In Kaworu's true self, Adam, they sorta did. Same with Lilith actually. The Impacts are conception and childbirth of the seeds of life. They can do it on their own, but also if they merge with an offspring either theirs or another seed, it triggers even if they don't want to.

Yes? They are terraforming processes, with a seed of life giving birth to a new everything: the environment and people. The souls are recycled and pushed into new bodies. People "die" and are later reborn. What they are reborn at depending on the seeds.

Originally the humans and angels are all beings of the same planet, members of what they got labeled as the FAR (First Ancient Race). Facing extinction, their seven godlike leaders dissolved their corporeal forms and carried their spirits in their womb/vessels (the door of guf) and searched for new planets to terraform and rebuild their civilization. Earth was assigned to Adam. But an incident caused Lilith to misfire and crash on Earth as Adam finished the terraform process, spilling all over and accidentally triggering the First Impact. The lilin like humans were born of a miscalculation by Lilith she didn't choose or wanted (that's why she's eager to tang them and start over), due to some fuckery, Adam and Lilith got disbalanced of fruits of life and knowledge on each other, so made their stuff incompatible by accident, so Adam triggered longinus to be dormant. Lilith Longinus broke on the collision and this wounded her for ages, unable to regenerate because she somehow was lacking fruit of life. Timeskip to the future where Seele discovers this, and provokes the Second Impact to birth the angels, who are basically literal children and babies lashing out in confusion looking for their mother, who was lobotomized and split apart for their experiments to control her, in Kaworu. Nerv did the same in secret with Lilith, and Rei.

Shinji basically liberates both of them, so rather than give the control of everything to Seele or Gendo, in a twist of Oedipus Complex, the two of them + Yui choose Shinji (that's why Gendo gets a told off by the three scene in EOE).

The world is doomed because the quota of souls was limited due to the door of guf of Lilith being emptied (not Adam's, though). Seele used this excuse to try to ascend into godhood, but usually IF the impacts are truly controlled by Adam and Lilith (which never were; even the Third, they gave the helm to Shinji because muh in love with him), the result would be terraforming in the original selves: the ancestral race that they meant to recreate. There're a couple of problems with that, their fruits got fucked up (but it seems you can recover from it) and Adam likes the lilim a lot, so it's not plausible Adam would like to see them remade unless that was their wish (as happened in the scenarios that Seele manipulates Kaworu because "It's what lilim wants").

Anyway, EoE is violent, but also marks a new beginning thanks to Shinji finally coming to terms, the new world was born from his union with his mother, the mother of lilin and the mother of angels. While Yui flies off, people emerge from the LCL sea (like Shinji and Asuka). Lilith and Adam are stated to be fixing the planet to make it more compatible with th new lifeforms (in a special cut winter seems back, so no more eternal summer).
