Why is RDJ so based compared to this foid. Does Disney even realize how much of the MCU was propped up by him? None of the remaining heroes can come close to doing what RDJ did (combination of beloved character and perfect actor for the role). Sure you have spiderman who is very popular but Tom Holland sucks. Same with Hulk and Ruffalo. Only Hemsworth, Pratt, Bautista, and the CGI tree/raccoon have any chance of emulating what RDJ did.

Black Panther made more than any RDJ film and Brie's first marvel film made almost as much as the third iron man film. I'm pretty sure if Disney made more female and Black orientated films they could pretty quickly eclipse the legacy of the original avengers

RDJ got in before comic movies became capeshit, when they were simply comfy action movies (Raimi, Nolan Batman, early Xmen era). He built this beast that the mcu has become and has every right to be cocky as shit. Unlike most of these other fools who hopped on the train much later.

Still hasn't refuted the point. Disney knows what they are doing in terms of marketing and release schedule. And given that black and female controversy creates as much if not more publicity and attention as RDj than more black and female films will lead to more business than with RDJ

The original 4 (6) avengers will never be surpassed in popularity as a whole. I can see Black Panther as an individual being much more popular than them individually. I can see Dr. Strange being up there too. But it will take a very long time to rebrand the Avengers in the eyes of the public from Stark/Cap/Thor/Hulk/Hawkeye/Widow to Black/Strange/Spidey/Cap Marv/Antman/etc.
Do you remember when you were a kid and you got a Playstation and your parents would say "turn the Nintendo off"? That type of effect will happen with this new Avengers. People won't even know they are the Avengers.

It took a long time for the original avengers to become as popular as they are while the current batch has so much more of a head start. They may not be as popular now, but I am sure it will take less time to be as popular

My argument is now the original 6 are 'set' as the Avengers in the public consciousness. That is tough conditioning to break. Of course internet movie nerds will know better but that is not most people.
