Fate Zero especially feels like a western Netflix series with real people. The dark colors and camera shot and long dialogues and traveling all over the city feels paced like a live action series with 40 min episodes.
But the Fate concept would totally work in movies, you'd have to create a story from scratch though since it's pretty hard adapting the anime storyline.

You can however take a few plot points and the same characters and make it work, but the rest will get delegated to secondary characters and forget about any lore, audiences would expect this battle Royale to play out to the very end.
Maybe Kotomine with his Servant are up to something evil and get defeated near the end of the movie, and the final battle for the wish is Shirou vs Rin
