Adapting a short story to film isn’t difficult, but this particular one would be. You kinda have to look at what the ratio of real action is compared to writer’s narration, and in this one, it’s a fuckton of narration. All that really happens is the characters walk to one end of a complex, encounter a big bird monster, and commit suicide except for the protag, who gets turned into a blob. Not a lot for even thirty minutes of television.
