I sometimes visit my grandma and try to catch up with what's on TV - and it's fucking miserable. They try to do programming like instead of 10 quality shows, it's 1 or 2 shows run into the fucking ground over several hours.

Plus the shows all look the same - I remember flipping from YTV to Teletoon, and both of them had these red characters that looked like round, blobby, flat flash based designs - I couldn't believe how bad cartoons have gotten.

Also coming back to find out Teletoon Retro was shut down really was a dick punch

Yeah, the cartoon channels are kind of a mess lately. I think Retro became Cartoon Network and the old Cartoon Network became Adult Swim. Except they're Canadian versions with the same shit everything else airs up here or old reruns.

I do believe Teletoon still shows the old 50s cartoons at like 5am though. Nothing as amazing as their original blocks from when the channel was founded, but the channel's not entirely vapid. They do have to deal with the fact all the modern cartoons are the same thing though. Silly meta-joke-filled round blobs of conforming niceness that doesn't offend or innovate. But at least they aren't YTV levels of 5 hour Spongebob blocks and try to change shows every hour at least?
