I don't think it was CGI. According to wikipedia (take it for what it's worth):

"Where the Dead Go to Die" actually made me wonder who allowed such a terrible, completely autist-made piece of crap to come to fruition, and then to be distributed enough for me to even hear about it in the first place. Also fuck /x/ for talking about it when it first came out. This and Begotten were /x/'s babies for the worst part or a month and my eyes hurt from the rolling.
