This show has had the most based men on any HBO show since Rome and you're complaining about one female casting.

I don't think they're complaining about a woman being cast, there were plenty of women working in lots of areas in the USSR.

What they seem to have a problem with is the fact that this female character somehow single-handedly exposes the secret of Chernobyl; fixes the plan the men came up with, thereby saving the world; has better ideas than the men around her; plows her way into meetings with Gorbachev; interviews all the victims and does the research that cracks the entire case of the core explosion; acts as the show's moral compass; and even demonstrates more bravery than the men, brow-beating them into risking their lives to tell the truth.

And she does this all while being fictional.
