I watched it for the first time last week.
Movies where the actors race from scene to scene shouting about how they don't have much time left are FUCKING BORING.
At no point did I care if any of the characters succeeded or failed, or even lived. Scripting a movie around a ticking clock is bad writing when you can't get the audience to care if they make it in time.

1. No one wanted a Han Solo prequel movie. Or at least, a Han Solo movie should have been like last in terms of priorities for stand alone films. If they wanted to make some bank, they should have started strong with a fan favorite, like Boba Fett. (I personally am not a MandoFag, but I know the SW fandom, and this would have been the right choice. Your opinion on him being popular for no reason does not matter. He would have made money.)
2. Everyone was so poisoned from seeing TLJ, many people decided to skip seeing solo.
3. Hardcore nerds who paid attention to news of the production woes were not optimistic about the movie, and so their lack of optimism quelled any interest or hype.
Because it was shit. What sort of question is that? You would know already if you watched the movie.

It was pretty good, it ticked all the basic boxes.
1) It had a story line you could follow
2) The characters were interesting
3) The interactions were believable
4) The plot twist was cool
5) The budget was great
6) It was a good mix between CGI and live action
7) It had plenty of humor
8) It was chock full of Star Wars references for us old farts who had seen SW in the theatres in 1977.
9) It had a good conclusion
