There is a pretty good argument that the way the book subverts the heros journey makes it basically un-adaptable. World building could be great though. After how shit GoT turned out I dont know how you can have hope for adaptions overall though.

Dune by Villeneuve will unquestionably suck big time. Did you not see how he ruined Blade Runner with 2049? The only redeemable thing about 2049 was Deakins' work. Story/plot, directing/acting, and the execution of ideas, were all mediocre to downright awful. Villeneuve took a huge fat shit on the Blade Runner universe and mythos, but he didn't care because all that was on his mind were the big money bags the studio gave him for the soulless cash-grab.
