The implementation of 5g in America would either require piggy backing off originally existing cell towers (which would require physical upgrade of hardware, and a strong hope that the 5g won't fuck up 4g and less) or the erection of new ones (which would require construction companies, material companies, etc). It's not something as simple as attaching an antenna on every street corner. A 5g conversion would not be as fast nor as cheap as the FCC would want. Oh and the wonderful thing known as both sides of the aisle not wanting 5g. Shit, the cell companies would jack up prices to cover the conversion, which is something no one wants.
