Marty McFly is the shittiest main character. Despite everyone going out of their way to call Marty a loser there's no proof that he's anything but perfect. His only "character development" happens when he's so perfect in the past that his faggy loser family stops being faggy losers. Back to the Future would be so much more interesting if Marty had to adapt to his surroundings and man up to escape his predicament. He should have chickened out when the Libyans attacked Doc, and then in the past grown a backbone, showing back up to prevent Doc from being killed. Marty is a flat note of a main character.
Marty McFly is the shittiest main character...
He's a slacker. His old man was a slacker too.
Nice try, Biff.
>OP thinks he didn’t chicken out in front of the Libyans
>OP thinks he didn’t learn to appreciate his family more
>OP hasn’t seen the sequels where Marty grows as a character as well
Did old people really wear life jackets and shit lmao
It was to save them from the water goblins of the 80s
>His only "character development" happens when he's so perfect in the past that his faggy loser family stops being faggy losers.
I don't even understand what you meant here. His character development is in the ending of the third film when he doesn't care that the punks call him chicken.
>Did old people really wear life jackets and shit lmao
kek I do ask myself that
The character arc was him trying to get his dad not to be a cuck. You're right, Marty was a Chad and that was actually the problem. His mom wanted him instead of the dad.
Doy you remember what Marty did when the Libyans attacked Doc?
They pretty much wear them now.
Because the character growth in the first one is not Marty's, it is his parent's character growth that mattered. Its actual a clever use of time travel to make the main character be the source of his own parents character development at his age, part of what makes the movie so enjoyable.
>Despite everyone going out of their way to call Marty a loser there's no proof that he's anything but perfect.
he's a manlet
here I forgot this
No, you’re just a shitheel. He’s a mostly good kid, as most of us were with movie ticket money at that time, not a angry pathetic little miscreant like the poverty victims who couldn’t afford to go see movies. Your anti-hero fetish has become old, tired, and boring. It’s formulaic, always the same with you. Every character in every fucking show needs to be a failure and have an arc in 2 hours and go through every step of the hero’s journey because it says so in the diagram. Well guess what, no they don’t. Turn off your fucking screen and familiarize yourselves with real people, anusface. Most people are just trying to be good and get by in the world while being thrust into situations they didn’t ask to be and only have their better nature to get them through. Grow up you twats.
In English Doc!
i have a comfy orange one
extra puffy
It's 2019. Where is my flying cars and hoverboards? Not blaming any particular group, but it's time to ramp up the ovens.
based boomer
If I have any issue with those movies it's the "chicken" thing. It feels like a really cheap way to get McFly to act stupid.
5'4"
you can also see that he is like 2 inches shorter than his gf from family ties
This but unironically
OP needs his characters to be “relatable”. ...to himself. His generation is so selfish they can’t stand to watch someone different from themselves, so they have to see themselves in a character to stand them at all, and the character has to be FLAWED because that’s what they are, otherwise they’re intimidated since they’re constantly comparing themselves to everyone they see since they have no fucking self-worth, but still have a need to feel superior when they walk out the theater. So your heroes need to have FLAWS and be FLAWED and did we mention FLAWS omg yes so many FLAWS, they’re so relatable. MCUs focus group formula for success.
and almost a foot shorter than biff... it really is no wonder everyone thought he was a loser, OP is a seething manlet who will never learn
1.63* metres not 1.67 youre being generous
Disney buys back to the future franchise. Everyone is diverse. Ayy doc tyrone we gotta go back in time to stop the whit people
But muh Deadpool
He said fuck and rough sex. That's a dope vibe ya'll.
Close. Xer, the lost generation, still waiting for the boomers to die off to have our chance at... wat.. oh, sorry millennials, go ahead...
Yeah it's a shit trilogy.
Just watch LOTR instead.
Indeed. Marty is a “steadfast” character, while his dad has the growth arc in learning to stand up for himself. Seeing his dad do this has a slight impact on Marty at the end of the film, when his Father is rich in his creative pursuits with writing, spurring Marty to continue his pursuits with music.
> t. Screenwriter
>t. Screenwriter
kill yourself lindelof, you suck
>I don't know what a flat character arc is
They had to make him kind of generic so that when he goes back to the future and his whole family is different, he can still be a generic teenager.
He's short, like really really short, when you short like that even if girls think your cute they might kiss you but they wont ever fuck you.
George is the hero, he's the one who develops and changes. Marty is the supernatural wise man who guides him along the way. He's not supposed to have an arc.
He canonically has kids though.
Yeah but they turn into assholes.
Hold hands
yes, I had one like that but blue
>He should have chickened out when the Libyans attacked Doc, and then in the past grown a backbone, showing back up to prevent Doc from being killed.
It's been a while since I've seen the movie but I thought this is what happened.
Also in one of the movies he has an arc about learning to ignore people who call him a chicken and to not get baited into doing dumbass shit.
Yeah. Script doesn't follow any of the usual rules and yet is kino. Explain how.
But doc wasn’t killed you complete brainlet
It's supposed to. Marty is supposed to be easily provoked due to not wanting to turn out like his pushover dad.
OP is a retard but doc got killed early on, in the original timeline.
he should've fucked his past or future mom that would be some character growth
such an assraped generation
based
But in the second film his dad is an ass-grabbing Chad.
Kekd
why didn't crispin glover play george in the sequels
Yeah, that always bugged me too, he's like an annoying little everything I do is cool fag.
This
because it would be like playing Luke in the sequels.
A flat note can literally be seen a sharp other note, checkmate atheists
No, but they did in the 90s when every jock wore North Face, except the life jackets were black or red
