But european comics are still pretty awesome
european comics are mostly based on scifi, fantasy or history and hardly ever about superheros so be warned.
Lanfeust is awesome. Imagine if the Dark Crystal was an action comic with some cheesecake.
If you like it I would advise you to check out other comics by Christophe Arleston.
Eagles of Rome is also really great. Fantastic art and a great story of one of Roms most crushing defeats by the Germanic tribes. Also gives you a nice little inside in roman society.
Thorgal is a very long running series. A little bit like Conan but more optimistic and with more magic.
Saga Valta is similar to Thorgal but I like it even more. Great art.
Arthus Trivium is a historical grahic novel with super natural elements.
Tintin is a classic. Stylist art and fun little action but no supernatural elements.
Oracle is about greek mythes and also very great. Each grahic novel tells a different myth with a new twist.
Mr. Ash Tuesday is very unique but hard to describe. Better just google it and come to your own conclusion.
Valerian is a scifi classic and very long. should keep you occupied for years
Vicente Segrelles The Mercenery is also great action fantasy about a dragon rider.
Lastly I have discovered another fantasy grahic novel called Servitude by Fabrice David whichs setting, artwork and lore reminds me a lot of Dark Soles. Fantastical Kingdoms build by magical creatures but who are now ruled by humans and solely falling into ruin.
