Absolute Kaiju Kino.
I understand the human plotline was mostly served to move the plot along and most of the time their motivations were kinda dumb. But holy fuck I don't care because those monster fights were pure unadulterated kino.

Not a big fan of Godzilla but was hyped for the movie. I was expecting more Kaiju action, the reviews made it sound like it was gonna be 70% fighting. Wasn't disappointed with the action. Theatre was near empty, maybe like 15-20 people.
What is hollow earth? Why are the kaijus headed towards Skull Island? What was up with the underwater city? I had to take a shit right before they headed there.

Hollow Earth was a theory the black dude in Kong Skull Island said things like lost civilizations and the Kaijus were hiding. Skull Island sits atop something or other. All the Kaijus are gathering there because Kong might be an Alpha rival to Godzilla so all the Mutos are going to check the fight out. He was huge during the Kong movie but he was still an adolescent. The next movie will mean Kong is 50 year older and 50 years bigger, Skull Island is too small for him now. The ocean city was literally Atlantis, and is essentially near the earths core or something, and Godzilla sleeps in this chamber that has a shit ton of radiation in it.
