I don't mind Bran "winning", I do mind Bran being King in the classical sense because it doesn't make sense

In reality Bran is the real villain considering he can see everything in an almost Orwellian way. Not to mention he knew that Dany was going to go nuclear and didn’t stop it. So that stupid fucking midget and Sam both handed the kingdom over to him on a whim.

Attached: M (2).jpg (1732x2610, 3.04M)

It's pretty simple: magic is real and the Lord of Light is at least partially real. Wouldn't even be interesting if it wasn't settled, mysteries are only fun when there is a way to solve them (or at least feel like you can) based on established principles, guessing whatever stupid fantasy bullshit the author stuck in is just annoying. GRRM knew this, that's why he keeps the magic bullshit to an appropriate minimum.

>tfw the books have taken so long to be published the world went from pre-9/11 classic heroism to post-9/11 subversion, now back to wanting true hero's journey again

People don't want George's "bittersweet" ending anymore.

Bran also randomly sends out his Kingsguard to dispatch of homos he catches.

NO LEMON TREES IN DORNE

If GRRM doesn’t completely forget about her she still could. Also I don’t believe George is going to follow the shows ending as a guideline considering the backlash he’s been getting. You would have to be retarded to just reprint such a shitty ending.

GRRM doesn't give a shit about the backlash. Also it's his guideline that the show followed dumbass

I'm curious what the Children's endgame is. Are they working with Euron or do they have greater ulterior motives? What the hell is in the Heart of Winter.

god damn

Attached: IMG_3974.jpg (968x681, 33K)

it's literally confirmed that the same thing will happen in the books
>b-but the writing will be better
it will still be pointless

Why would george want to spoil his books?

It's a guideline they loosely followed based on what actors they had around at the time and what characters they liked the most.

look at dem knockers...

>peaked at s2
yikes

To be fair, he only had six total chapters between books 3 and 5

hope Bran is actually evil and the white walkers where the good guys

You are the dumbass. Originally George defended it but he’s been backpedaling on that since even his die hard fanboys have been tearing him apart for how shit the ending is.

GRRM doesn't know how his books will end and has consistently been inconsistent with what he says about how close the ending will be to the show. Sorry you thought that Jon's "ice and fire" parents meant he was destined to be the king in the end.

What does any of those two things have to do with one another?

Basically Bran is no different than what Dany suggested to Jon before he killed her

They were user. They did literally nothing wrong.

Attached: CA74BB99-16F0-4C0F-8121-F3FB555FC4A8.jpg (1199x2642, 507K)

Gotta be honest, GRRM created too many side characters to resolve all of the arcs satisfyingly

- Victarion
- Euron
- that Magician Greyjoy
- Qaithe
- Three Eyed Raven
- Patchface
- Littlefinger
- Jaqen H Gar
- Sam
- that banker
- Varys
- Ariane
- Darkstar

etc. I read the books like three years ago and can't remember anything about their plotlines

She looks like she was just handed a love letter by me

No, in the books Jon is Azor Ahai reborn. He will defeat the Others and stop the Long Night. Which should have happened in the show but Dabid & Dabid got their crayons mixed up and thought Arya should be the one to kill the Night King.

I have been searching for this webm for too long, thx user.

Imagine it George dabbed on Dabid for fucking with his story and wrote a different and far better ending for the books

Azor Ahai isn't real and won't be a factor in the story except for the prophecy driving people to stupid actions.

the winds of winter preview chapters feel like a clusterfuck too.

It’s what we’re all hoping for user. He would be retarded to stay the course the show went.

Attached: 94CBDD03-887F-4541-8BF0-888CC105BABE.jpg (527x701, 43K)

The preview chapters are from an earlier draft of ADWD, they were cut because the book was too long.

the foreshadowing was the most praised thing about the books, but now that R+L=J turned out pointless, bookfags backpedal and act like it never mattered
>it's SUBVERSIVE you pleb, go back to Harry Potter
kek

Should fuck with them by doing the opposite of everything the show did.
Have Dany never even come to Westeros and stays in Essos as the Good Queen, subvert expectations and make Jon Ned’s actual son with Ashara Dayne, etc.

To be fair, he ends up being the winner of the game of thrones, so think folks watching -- The Game of Thrones -- for a decade might want to know more about hm and his doings.

>meant he was destined to be the king in the end.
Why do people on both sides of the argument keep assuming AA = get the throne? Regardless of who beats the ice zombies there’s nothing saying the throne is their reward.

>Gurrm had too many characters because I'm retarded and can't remember the books I read 3 years ago

Going to need a source on that OP picture.

AA isn't real

How could you possibly make Bran being king make sense and feel organic?
How could an intact seven kingdoms even remain?
How would this make sense with the North fracturing?
How could George write the same ending without it being retarded?
Is it possible?

Could George pull another A Feast For Crows and just scrap whatever material he has of The Winds of Winter so far and start from scratch again? Imagine if he did something like that now when the books are massively popular.

Not my argument.
I'm saying I can't imagine how he can possibly connect all these into a satisfying conclusion. I didn't even list most main characters.

1 - Arya kills them or 2 - A wall falls on them

See, not hard to wrap up their stories.

I liked the refugee theory a lot better than what we got

He is fire, the others are Ice, his will be the tale of fire defeating ice. It was only later that he, assumedly, came to the conclusion that ice and fire was meant to be a combination and not a dynamic.

Nice thank you.
Hard to choose between S3 and early S5

Rhaegar was prophecy obsessed and was wrong multiple times.

Not every character needs a fucking arc

You're welcome

> Central character of your story.

> He's not around much

Unless you're writing Godot, doesn't really work.

isn't Darkstar intended to be the true Aegon?

Too much fundamentally makes no sense

No. Every prophecy comes true, just in usually unforseen or abstract ways. George has legitimately said this. There has never been a single prophecy that has not been fulfilled in the books, there have been a lot that have.

Damnit, you were supposed to take offense to my post for calling you retarded and retort by calling me a faggot. I'm a masochist and can only survive by constantly being called a faggot or retard on here.
But you're right on some of those plot points. Some of those characters won't be wrapped up satisfyingly or not at all in a way that Gurrm just hopes people forget about those characters existing

only PoV characters really need an "arc", even then it's on a scale

Am I supposed to look at Joffrey? Because I do not...

A lot of characters are going to converge with each other and mix their stories.

AA is “real” in the sense that someone is going to stop the others and the prophecy is vague enough that they’ll match the requirements, retard. Not to mention we have enough confirmed magic to know prediction magic sometimes works (like that one maegi gave the exact numbers of Cersei and Roberts kids).

But there’s no fucking reason to assume that person will also get the Iron Throne so why do you keep saying it? And why are you acting like it’s some kind of writing crime to follow through with established set-ups? GRRM doesn’t create his subversions by randomly picking the opposite of what you’ve be led to expect.

this
time is convoluted in the universe

Attached: mommy.webm (1000x720, 2.78M)

How central a character has no bearing on them getting the throne. I'd be okay with someone completely out of the left field taking the throne if it was set up well

Making Brann king is the only thing that makes sense. You have an omniscient ancient wizard with no personal ambitions at your disposal. Why the fuck wouldn't you make him king?

Why not both?

Attached: F552FE54-3960-43E7-80A7-CAD5C8CD1F55.png (345x512, 258K)

broken peepee

The same thing can't happen in the books. The Night King is a show-only character, the decision for him to be killed by Arya was literally made 3 years ago, by the show writers. He is never going to exist in the book, George has gone on record saying he hates the idea of a big bad guy like Sauron and doesn't ever plan to introduce one, the others are uniform and don't have a hierarchy. Dany also has visions of dragons and frost at the trident, hinting that the others are at least going to make it that far.

>no personal ambitions
You fell in his trap user

Attached: 1558642992751.png (384x373, 148K)

because the people in positions of power to make him king aren't rational altruists who want what's best for the people?

>Dany also has visions of dragons and frost at the trident, hinting that the others are at least going to make it that far.
>yfw Drogo coming back was part of the infertility curse
>yfw the Others are going to make it as far as the Dothraki plains

this would have been so good, Dany falls for a sugar daddy.

How are you supposed to trust his intentions, he could decide any day that he wants to end humanity and push events in that direction

All I said was that AA isn't real. I didn't say who was getting the throne, dumbass. the AA prophecy has nothing to do with the others either.
And I'm not arguing that GRRM is going to do the exact opposite, but following his work he doesn't write fairy tale endings and prophecy are visions sent to get people to make poor decisions and kill each other.

>omniscient ancient wizard who just watched king's landing burn and did nothing

>frost at the trident, hinting that the others are at least going to make it that far.

That's just winter. Which just started at the end of ADWD

bring me his ____

Attached: ser ilyn.jpg (2000x2000, 695K)

- Victarion
Will die trying to use the horn for his own gain, which will end up working in Eurons favor.

- Euron
Will die in some sick twist to the apotheosis he is trying to achieve.

- that Magician Greyjoy
Who?

- Qaithe
Could be resolved in a single chapter.

- Three Eyed Raven
Tied completely to Bran, one of the five main characters.

- Patchface
Drowned god prophet that just spouts prophecies, there isn't anything to conclude other than him having something to do with Shireen dying.

- Littlefinger
Attempting to unify the North, the Vale and the Riverlands, will probably be killed by Lady Stoneheart or Sansa.

- Jaqen H Gar
He's infiltrating the maester's guild looking for information about dragons, because the faceless men got a dragon egg from Euron. I have no idea what the end-game for this one is.

- Sam
Becoming the maester of the night's watch and researching white walker shit to help.

- that banker
Really nigga?

- Varys
Young Griff is his master plan. Will be successful but then Dany will come and kill his ass, despite everybody loving him, major part of her downfall.

- Ariane
Literally who cares? She doesn't have anything left to do or care about.

- Darkstar
Will probably steal Dawn and go to join Young Griff as part of his king's guard or something.

You also forgot Aurane Waters, the High Sparrow, whatever Loras is doing at Dragonstone etc...

so stannis confirmed dead then?

L O L LAUGH OUT LOUD

I'm curious how Littlefinger is getting out of his deal with the Royces.

It does matter. He's going to end the long night. The prophecy was never about becoming king.

The ending was fine in my eyes. It's how we got there that was done poorly.

All major events besides Night King being killed by Arya work completely fine as long as the lead up to them is compelling.

King Bran wouldn't be so bad if he was actually Bran and not some zombie

Name literally one prophecy from the books that has been confirmed to have been completely false. Just one.

I'd probably see if this story I was told by my mate was true or not. The story is this lad we knew got his girlfriend to lick peanut butter off his balls. Aside from that, I wouldn't really want to become a literal cuckold and watch people I knew fuck.

and they got completely btfo a nice payback after watching the starks get btfo time and time again

Dickon "Chad" Tarly

Attached: 1530777524741.jpg (700x700, 140K)

What a magnificent post!

How the FUCK can you justify a grand council putting a 10- 11 year old on the throne?

1. He actually does something pivotal in the battle against the others and becomes a national hero. Although if that were so, why did he do literally nothing in the show?
2 .Preston’s theory that the children of the Forest install their puppet on the throne is real

Is there anything else that makes sense?

Karl Dragon

Attached: review_funkow3p1_1.jpg (800x967, 128K)

I never saw him making it alive, at best maybe becoming lord commander of the night's watch. But he's not going to be memed by 20 good men, nor is he going to burn his daughter. Shireen is likely to die but it would be nice if she ended up as ruler of Storm's End when all is said and done.

Fortinbras in Hamlet

Which Tarly is getting killed by Aegon or Joncon and which one is being used as leverage for negotiations between the two parties after being captured in battle?

I can't remember if book Dickon hated Sam or not on the same level as his father or is there some small amount of compassion he shares for him?

Sansa tells every lords who attempts to speak against the decision to sit down and have sex.

Don't you have a much better show you should get back to Billy?

Aeron is just a PoV to give exposition on Euron. He's more than likely dying when he gets tied to the boats in Winds, because Dany had a vision that seems to imply as much in book 2. I don't remember shit about Tycho other than maybe he was the guy supporting Stannis or some shit.

this. sadly the show even robbed him from that.

Attached: I DUN WUN IT.png (600x400, 146K)

>I didn't say who was getting the throne, dumbass.
My bad then, I thought you were the guy I started this conversation with. He was linking “song of ice and fire” with the throne when, as you say, they’re separate things.

>but following his work he doesn't write fairy tale endings
It it plays out the way the AA stuff implies it will be pretty bittersweet anyway, they’ll have to kill their lover and most likely won’t be rewarded with the throne. The mere fulfillment of a prophecy doesn’t make it sunshine and daisies.

Kind of tangential but I’ll also mention the books are more vocal about Dany as AA right now, and this is a bit of a subversion already. The show confirmed Jon as a Targ which makes people complain it’s “too obvious” but by the time the book gets there it would be a second subversion of the original prophecy.

youtube.com/watch?v=_P80EyBqSX4
hey guys the cast list for the ASOIAF pilot is out do you think it will be a good adaptation???

Attached: 1539802070679.png (960x776, 27K)

Jon was brought back to convince Dany to go north of the wall, to give the NK a dragon, with which he could destroy the wall and march his army south, which put him in Winterfell at the same time as Arya, who was saved by Beric "19 times" Dondarian so that she could kill the NK

It makes perfect sense

They could've just adapted AFFC and ADWD without speeding through them butchering every single character and had enough material for years, without destroying George's goodwill with them. They thought they could do it better

Dickon is like 8 in the books

Most popular show in the world, they DID do it better

>Varys, Arianne, and Darkstar are involved in the same Young Griff plotline.
>Sam and Jaqen are in the maester and Oldtown plot together.

I can still hope she runs off with Jon instead of dying

>Dany in the books is about to face fAegon, her "nephew", as a more legitimate claimant to throne and a source of political strife that makes her the usurper
>if we're to believe the show, she will then later face Aegon (Jon), her nephew, as a more legitimate claimant to throne and a source of political strife that makes her the usurper

Jon is staying dead in the books and all of Daenery's scenes in the show were with Jon are actually Aegon's in the books. Also more obvious that TV Jon's real name is "Aegon" too.

>Rhaegar naming his second son Aegon
I always assumed that was just D&D being lazy fucks and assuming they could get away with it since they cut Young Griff

Jon kneels to Dany because he was in love with her anyway, not to save anyone. She already promised to help

It's highly unlikely that lightbringer is a sword. Not to say Jon won't kill her. But if he stabbed her and pulled the sword out and it was burning, it wouldn't really make any sense, because you would have to explain how it was first forged in water and then a lion's heart.

Lightbringer is likely a person.

Jon's Targ name will be Aemon, I believe. The third head of the dragon won't be Young Griff. It's more likely to be someone like Tyrion. Or, if the real Aegon is still alive, then it is perhaps somebody like the Darkstar. Although I doubt that because he hasn't been built up or foreshadowed well enough for such an important role, despite the groundwork being there for it to be plausible.

How do you think Jon will even find out he's a Targ?

No, if Dany was going to hook up with fAegon it would have happened already. fAegon was planning on marrying Dany but proceeds with his invasion of Westeros because she’s stuck in Meereen and Tyrion convinces him to go.

Dany is definitely hooking up with Jon, her house of the undying vision already suggests they get married

>offer dumb bitch a couch to sleep on for the night
>she strips but keeps all her make up on
now I have to clean the fucking pillow cases, if they're not outright ruined, because of this fucking stupid roastie WHY ARE WOMEN SO FUCKING SELFISH AND DUMB REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I legitimately think that GRRM has cocked up because he originally planned the series as a trilogy.

Dany wasn't even supposed to appear until book 2 (of 3), so her being a villain wouldn't have been a problem. Bran could have been more of a Harry Potter character.

But the emphasis of the story wound up being completely different, with Dany being a straight hero until Meereen's siege at the earliest, and Bran's chapters being the hardest and least interesting (for GRRM) to write.

So the story is just fucked. He should just changed his plan, and unless he does, the story isn't going to work any better in the books than the show.

Sam probably discovers documents in the citadel. Sam's plotline is one of the most I'm looking forward too in TWOW especially since we're probably going to be introduced too the Hightowers.

Sure, but they will be brother and sister

>It won't be awful in the books
you've gotten all the books you're gonna get there chief

I imagine it being something more along the lines of the sword breaking in water was Rhaegar dying at the trident, the sword breaking in the Lion's Heart will likely be Tyrion or Jaime (one of them actually being a targ) being killed. Jon will be the successful forging of the sword, which will be evidenced when he's ressurected (reforged).

The Azor Ahai prophecy already subtly applies to him when he dies. He dies under a bleeding star (the giant smashing the dude with the star crest on his tabard, which is covered in blood), amidst salt and smoke.

>Sam probably discovers documents in the citadel.
Seriously? This felt like one of the biggest DABID asspulls of the last 2 seasons.

He won't OR he'll meet Ashara and she'll reveal the truth to him. Howland could also be a part of this.

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad if he fulfills the AA stuff but never finds out his parentage.

I doubt that’ll happen though so I assume Howland Reed or Bran would get the message to him.

Lightbringer is going to be Davos. My personal crackpot is that Azor Ahai will really be Westeros itself or post-monarchy Westeros.

Howland Reed

If he was, Joarh would have struck him directly instead of wanting him to try the wine first.

Can someone explain who the fuck Tommen even was? I missed seasons 5 and 6 of the show.

>Dany wasn't even supposed to appear until book 2 (of 3), so her being a villain wouldn't have been a problem. Bran could have been more of a Harry Potter character.

Dany being a "villain" in the books already isn't a problem. Have you actually read them? Her slow descent into madness has been building since book 1.

>Gilly who can't read finds a secret document about an anullment(despite already having 2 kids) and a secret marriage(which wouldn't be legitimate)

He took the name King's Landing too seriosuly

Where else could they be? Sam will probably find some documents about Rhaegar and learn he had a son named Aemon and he'll be wondering who the hell Aemon is giving Rhaegar seemingly died childless and then he'll connect it to Jon somehow.

Bran will be king of the weirwoods or some shit not of whole 7 kingdoms

It is an asspull. Why would there be documents about Jon's real parentage there? Makes no sense. The only person who knew about Jon's true parents for sure was Ned. The only people who could possibly know are Howland and Ashara. The only person who could possibly find out is Bran.

Those are your 4 options, if he is to ever find out.

Who says she got sodomized?
{spoiler]Also why wasn't this a scene?[/spoiler]

Why would there even be documents? Either Rhaegar abandoned his wife and kids to run off with some thot who was already betrothed, or he kidnapped her.

>doubt.jpeg

Because it's retarded? Someone had to write the fucking document. The truth should be all over the place if somebody knew and wrote it down. Also this

There’s still a living character who knows pretty much everything Ned did about Jon.

Firstly, Rhaegar didn't die childless. Secondly, why the fuck would they have documents about Leanna's birth?

I don't understand. How did she suddenly become so attractive this season?

Pretty sure none of them was Howland Reed. We had Lords Juan and Teau of house Unnamed and of course the infamous UNE.

> Promise me Ned, and don't tell anyone

> Ned tells someone

Bravo.

the trouble is that she's been established as a protagonist, not an antagonist. the show made a point of more heavily foreshadowing madDany than the books did, and it still didn't work. no amount of setup will make it work in the books for most readers, and I really think GRRM has taken so long because he's unconsciously struggling with the fact that he's made a mistake in not restructuring the story.

Why is Stannis so popular here? Is he better in the books?

someone get me the pic of cersei's hand holding a glass of wine from the pile of bricks

But that would give Jorah away

He could have told Ashara out of necessity, as he loved her and knew that everybody was going to expect that she was the mother. That could be the reason she's potentially faked her own death and gone into exile.

No, you're wrong. Show Dany was largely YASS QWEEN shit. Book Dany is intentionally written as a retard and hypocrite who is slowly losing her mind and becoming like her father. I predicted this shit almost a decade ago and I'm an idiot who is terrible at reading into foreshadowing. You really need to re-read the books my man. I doubt you've read them at all to be honest.

>the trouble is that she's been established as a protagonist, not an antagonist.
Characters change, especially over the course of a long series. Especially in a series with multiple protagonists with each chapter told from their point of view. How do you explain Cersei you stupid pleb?

For the board is dark and full of jannies...

Based barry

>It's another "Janny blissfully ignores 500 not TV related alt-right threads, but goes ballistic over /ecg/" episode

>established as a protagonist, not an antagonist
Not at all. She’s sympathetic but it’s also more apparent how badly she’s fucked up the east and how she has some big red flags as a ruler (messiah complex, quick to resort to burning, naively believes the smallfolk of Westeros are “crying out for her return”, low patience for routine politics). She’s likable but it’s clear “tyrant” is a viable path for her character.

And POV sure as hell doesn’t make readers assume she’s a protagonist, we have several antagonist POVs.

What is wrong with it, user? Is it engorged?

Attached: w3.jpg (1100x854, 662K)

>the trouble is that she's been established as a protagonist, not an antagonist
Yea just like how Jaime was established as an antagonist and never changed beyond that right?

If he bent the knee and was still alive they would be able to convince the wildlings to leave Hardhome much easier and not only part of them, but everyone. Also he's a good leader and probably would've made better decisions than Jon.

This. Her last chapter in ADWD is her brother telling her that her efforts as a peaceful queen in Essos are a failure and she needs to use fire and blood

No he's meant to be the cringe that was promised

Yea Forums is alt right headquarters reddit

we just need to wait until the night

you're missing or intentionally not understanding my argument.

in a trilogy where Dany doesn't show up until book 2, she's a wild card that could do anything. there, her burning people randomly doesn't need to be explained because she's always someone who is seen as a foreign outsider by the reader who is already on the side of the Westerosi characters.

in the books that actaully exist, she's introduced at 13 and has done literally all of her "going mad" foreshadowing while still a young teenager. she has two (2) dead families, a prophetic comet and has been given her dragons by GRRM himself. the Undying chapter in the books literally casts her as directly in opposition to the forces of darkness.

it takes waaaay too long before she starts doing anything genuinely villain-y. people who perceived her as the main character of the show weren't just annoying feminists, they were reacting to the story structure. by presenting all of Dany's rapeventures as drama GRRM has set up his material incorrectly by making them seem like trials on a hero's journey. why is serial killer Arya supposed to still be a main character if Dany isn't? just cause her surname is Stark? rubbish.

>build up heroic character for 8 Seasons, to the point where she acts anacronistically pacifist at multiple times
>DUDE SHE GOES MAD FOR NO REASON AT THE SECOND LAST EPISODE
These jewish hack fucks have absolutely no idea what they're doing. They should've just ended with her being Mary Sue queen because atleast it would be logical to THEIR OWN SHOW. Why the fuck did they use GRRM's ending on their own OC? They just ruined everything now, even for bookfags. Fuck these jew hacks.

Wait until he goes away

The actors don't know shit. That one guy "confirmed" that GRRM already wrote both books which turned out to be bullshit.

>has set up his material incorrectly by making them seem like trials on a hero's journey.
And she fails her hero's journey, which is the point. There's nothing wrong with that story as long as her fall is properly explained and nothing in the books so far takes away from that.

Book Jaime isn’t the same as cuck Jaime on tv

GRRM confirmed shireen will burn

Targs are known for having miltiple wives at once. I don't see rhaegar being already married as some giant problem. Plus, who's gonna stop him? Dorne against all other kingdoms? The faith that has no army? Don't make me laugh. Rhaegar could do whatever he wanted

>by presenting all of Dany's rapeventures as drama GRRM has set up his material incorrectly by making them seem like trials on a hero's journey.

This is not GRRMs fault, it's the show writers fault. If you look at her purely from a book stand-point, the logical conclusion is her descent into madness and becoming like her father, at always has been. She's always fighting against it, but she's slowly been losing.

Cant wait for young griff and golden company to dab all over cersei

youtube.com/watch?v=Tg4SGxihVB8
post good commentary clips

>how badly she’s fucked up the east
all presented as heroic. repeat: my point is that GRRM has fucked up.
>messiah complex
because she got dragons in a magic ritual, and then multiple prophecies in a magic castle?
>quick to resort to burning
she does it less in the books than the show, and the show's ending didn't work. plus, the story opens with the "main character" chopping a guy's head off, so...
>low patience for routine politics
she sits on a throne for hours listening to everyone's petitions.

ASoIaF is such a complex story that it badly needed the simplicity of some kind of straightforward "characters we like team up to fight Evil Stuff" towards the end. GRRM has proven completely willing to write straight villain characters, but apparently he fucking hates straight heroes.

the lameness and nihilism of the show's ending is GRRM's own work. he doesn't realize he's tried to bend heroic fantasy too far and the books are going to end up a niche curiosity like Titus Groan.

A shame, but I know it won't be Stannis' doing.

It makes sense. He is going to lose the battle of Winterfell and break.

Who should have the last epilogue in the series? I reckon it should be one of the smallfolk. Seeing how once monarchy is dissolved once and for all.

But the season he disappears for is after they run out of books.

I think only by ADWD's end are there real hints that Dany might abandon her pacifist course. But even that might've been just a temporary setback. GRRM is hinting at Dany leading a slave revolt that would engulf near all of Essos.

Watch me before you for Emilia at her most precious

(you might want her to sit on your face though fair warning)

He's going to become a tree god, why is becoming king unexpected?

if you'd read the books before 2011 you'd know that the whole fanbase was annoyed she was spending so much time in Essos instead of going to "fix" things in Westeros. because people thought that was the point of her character: because GRRM fucked up.

Based jannies

Not much apparently
>I sat down for the first time with David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for a lunch that lasted well past dinner? I asked them if they knew who Jon Snow’s mother was. Fortunately, they did.

>all presented as heroic. repeat: my point is that GRRM has fucked up.

No it isn't, read the fucking book again nigger. Her conquering and freeing of slaves causes FAR more harm than it ever does good. Nevermind all the dumb retarded hypocritical shit she does.

>I asked them if they knew who Jon Snow’s mother was. Fortunately, they did.
but ashara dayne wasn't even in the series?

fuck emilia fans

They had a very, very loose guideline and the main events of the ending

The whole point of her story is to make people sympathize with Sauron. Her descent into madness is supposed to be subtle.

>less
FEWER

Attached: Stannis.png (500x751, 385K)

He's never going to finish writing them so he doesn't care.

Her descent into madness is supposed to be fully understandable and even justifiable. She has good intentions and she does what her forefathers should've done long ago and is punished for it every step of the way.

>explained because she's always someone who is seen as a foreign outsider by the reader who is already on the side of the Westerosi characters
Like how Jaime was an outsider antagonist for 2 full books? It doesn’t cement him as an antagonist any more than having Dany as a POV from book one cements her as a protagonist.

>by making them seem like trials on a hero's journey.
No, the reader is meant to examine all her actions and results, and pick up on how trials and suffering isn’t automatically making her a hero.

>why is serial killer Arya supposed to still be a main character if Dany isn't?
Because we’re waiting to see if she is consumed by vengeance and becomes a villain or manages to get redeemed and recover from the dark path she’s heading down. Seriously are you sure you read the books? You’re talking about her portrayal as if it’s the same as what the show game us.

Also being evil wouldn’t stop Dany from being a main character.

>because GRRM fucked up.
You mean because readers are stupid. Do you really share the same room temperate IQ as those who have thought that Daenerys has been set up as heroic "save the world" character this whole time? Despite every time she tries to do so failing horribly and/or ending in her murdering countless people and making things even worse? Or how about when the noble comes to her begging her to help him retake his home from the freed slaves who forced him out of it, only for her to reject him and tell him that "if it was truly yours, you should have defended it. Now you have lost all right to it". GEEE, I WONDER WHAT THE POINT OF THAT LITTLE ENCOUNTER WAS? I WONDER WHAT THAT SAYS ABOUT DAENERYS AS A CHARACTER AND WHAT PARALLELS ARE BEING DRAWN?

Grow a brain.

Hizdhar will probably push her into revolting so he can gain other assets and take advantage of the situation buying up things similar to how he bought the slave pits.

actually, GRRM is hinting at the slaves revolting of their own accord in the assumption that MAD QUEEN DANY is going to be there to help them secure their revolt with her dragons.

that's in contrast with NOT MAD DWARF Tyrion who is allowed to burn people on the Blackwater in self-defence, Stannis who can burn people to make his boats go faster, etc. we're not supposed to perceive those things as compromising to their characters.

1) GRRM planned the story as a trilogy.
2) changing the story structure changes the reader's expectations.
3) they're not going to work, because he didn't change the ending in response.

>whore lets her brother rub her clit
Why?

literally Daenerys in book 4 and 5 is made by GRRM more sympathetic and less cruel, you need to re read them.

incest is hot

t. GRRM

You are caught up in the game. You keep looking at it from the perspective of good guys and bad guys. Step back, they are all the bad guys. Even Ned.

You are fucking brainlet, In books and show Daenerys is made as protagonist end of story. The mad queen theory is the most retarded and stupid theory i ever seen, literally from brainlets less than 40 iq.

>3) they're not going to work, because he didn't change the ending in response.

Now I know you're full of shit and have no idea what you're talking about. Have you actually read his original outline of the three books. It has Tyrion's main plot being that he ultimately sides with the Starks, Jaime is a complete dickhead that always hated Tyrion. Jaime usurps the iron throne and Tyrion is the one who ultimately takes him down. Nevermind the countless other end-game scenario's outlined in the document that can't possibly happen. Educate yourself before engaging in arguments you have no clue about.

banter

they could have just fucking googled that. George was so fucking stupid for giving them the series based off that

Maybe in the books Jon snow kills bran the bitch

Daenerys is the biggest character assassination in television history, bigger than Stannis ever, stop defending retarded choices by D&D. In books she care about innocent and plebs, she would never hurt them.

>even ned
No

You already got blown out in the show and you're right to be mad, because the execution was absolutely terrible. You're going to get COMPLETELY blown out in the books yet again, but this time you won't have the excuses to hide behind. Stay mad and get ready, it's coming.

george writes it all on ms dos probably doesn't even know what google is lol

George is extremely stupid with what he does with ASOIAF. Remember he sold the game rights to some literal Polish shovelware studio that did fuck all with it. He could've sold it for millions more to any established publisher.

George will give this arc justice. And in the end her going "mad" might be completely justifiable and even understandable from our perspective. It's a shame the hack jews spoiled this moment but I still think GRRM will handle this with a bit more taste and nuance.

based

I'm saying that GRRM set her up as a save the world character because he wanted to Subvert Our Expectations, not because he really knew where he was going enough to make that subversion work in practice.

it's totally simple: you just need to detach yourself from your blind faith in the Fat Man.

I mean the WW in the show are called "the Others". he clearly thinks he's going to do something fantastically clever with having them turn out to not be a big deal (like in the show) to demostrated that the human race is the real problem (like in the show) and it's not going to work (like in the show).

it's possible to recognize material as stupid because it's actually non-viable as a narrative. GRRM is going to end up with a history lesson at best.

you've also forgotten the context of Dany giving a blanket pardon of all crimes committed during the meereen sack.

Jaime's going to end up in Cersei's arms in the books too, buddy.

I like how you're using terms like "villain" in a story with grey morality without noticing that the concepts are incompatible. but I think GRRM probably hasn't recognized that either.

>Daenerys is the biggest character assassination in television history

Completely agree.

>stop defending retarded choices by D&D.

I'm not, they're complete hacks.

>In books she care about innocent and plebs, she would never hurt them.

Not yet, perhaps she won't at all. But she's going to be killing people, such as young griff, who will be beloved rulers of the three kingdoms and who have a more legitimate claim than her. Which will lead to her demonisation and transition into an antagonistic force.

Subtle you ass retards, shit character development is shit character development.

>goes to buy a slave army
>doesn't want to pay for them
>burns the slavers and just takes the whole city

Not a great hero
He repeatedly chose the easy way out rather than what was best for his country and his people. His story shows how selfish a person who hides behind honor can really be.
