Its generally give ***1/2 because I can usually argue/balance everything down to that rating in my head.
I also don't want to look like I'm giving too high/low scores all the time, that might lead to people who see the scores having over/hyped expectations.
Finding most films "good" "solid" also means that when come across something I really love, it feels it stands out better for me.
