Did Yea Forums like this movie?
I did
The antagonist did LITERALLY AND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG AT ALL. NOTHING AT ALL.
Yes
Now that it became popular, no Yea Forums doesn't like it. Before that, yes.
one of my fVourites
Oldboy is the kind of movie you watch for the premise, but the thing you remember the most afterwards is the end
I loved it.
I didn't like it.
ALABAMA
It's good on the first watch. Recently watched it again and knowing about the twist at the end kind of ruins the movie and makes you see how comically bad it actually is.
Yeah it's alright, better Korean movies out there tho.
9/10 or 8/10
Yea Forums collectively jerked off over it for like 2 years.
It gets weird with the incest. That hammer fight sequence though.
The daughter twist situation is easily foreseen actually. I enjoyed the ride more than anything
Why's that?
Could you name a few, please
Why not 10/10?
I liked it. One of those films that's overhyped but good. Just have to make some time, not tell anyone you're going to see it and keep your expectations low. Don't look it up online. Don't ask others for their opinions. Give yourself as much of a blank slate as you can.
It's masterpiece. Flat out. Easily Chan-Wooks best.
Oldboy > Thirst > Lady Vengeance > The Handmaiden > Mr Vengeance > JSA >>>>>> Stoker
This, desu
But the motives of the bad guy are not
it's a classic. americans tried to replicate it but they failed miserably as they always do when they touch something that has soul.
JSA needs to be ranked a lot higher. What are you 12?
Letting yourself be influenced by other people's opinion is low-IQ. Learn expectation management if you're so contrarian that even somebody else telling you a movie is good influences your enjoyment of the movie.
I like the American version more
I didn't care for silly twists but it was cool when he ate the octopus and beat dudes with a hammer.
the plot only makes sense in the context of autistic japanese culture. A guy spends his entire life getting revenge on some dude he barely knows, because the dude accidentally saw him having sex with his sister? Only bug people understand why that's a motivation
Haven't seen it yet. Is it really as bad as everyone says?
