i like Lynch but i always thought Inland Empire was intensely boring, probably my least favorite of his movies

BRUTAL
FUCKING
MURDER

it's more unapolagetically weird and disjointed than mulholland drive or twin peaks...also more transparent about the filming process. The first 25mins or so are pretty unsettling, and the latter scenes just feel disturbingly contrived.

I don't like that kind of talk. I think you should go.

Might be his best film

It might be. I love the weirdly raw filming style with the shitty early digital vs. the implied money behind the "film"

Is he a parody of Tarantino?

Probably the best experience I've had in a cinema showing. Not the most enjoyable but definitely the most visceral and left me with an impression the longest out of anything else I've ever watched.
It's the closet thing to being in a vivid, inescapable nightmare whilst still being awake I've experienced. Thoroughly unsettling.

It was like a bad trip.

The only time I slept at the theatre. Woke up to see 4 of the other 6/7 people also asleep
BRAVO LYNCH!

I still can't watch Inland Empire for the first time yet because I don't think I'm ready for it.

Plus it sucks not getting to watch one of his films for the first time all over again, Id rather not rush it.

i was actually surprised at how amazing his acting was in The Return.

It's borderline unwatchable

BROOTAL FACKING MURDERR

Is there a reason Lynch shot Inland Empire on video? Am I being Lynched if I think it looks like a shitty TV movie?

He was trying to experiment with digital which is why it looks like a Len Kabasinski movie

SCOOBY
DIVING

>borderline
It’s a pile of shit. I’m glad he was able to indulge himself. I wasted +3 hours of my life

He wanted to edit the movie himself.

I tried twice to finish it and just couldn't. I love most of his other movies though. I like the part with the pornstars though.

weird you can look at this pic and know immediately it's California

easily worst Lynch movie. it was so boring, all other Lynch films are action-wise unironically cape shit tier compared to that snoozefest.

I liked this movie a lot. It was long and slow but it stuck with me and I thought it had some great scenes and an amazing soundtrack.

*sucks your dick*

>Inbred Empire
what did he mean by this?

Goddamn those close-ups

If I remember correctly he liked the idea of being able to shoot all this footage and have the ability to easily edit himself.

there was something real weird going on in DV tape and Lynch got the budget to figure out what it was

It's bizarre because I read he always hated the look of video. Like the character from Lost Highway is supposed to have reflected that. Part of me thinks he chose video because it was so gross to look at he thought it was interesting given the content.

Laura Dern's regular unaltered face.

it always reminded me of found footage. honestly the look of inland empire just makes it more disturbing

Someone explain the bunny suits to me I'm retarded

David Lynch thinks sitcoms are a weird esoteric language unto themselves and tried to encapsulate their surreality in his own way.

They’re segments from a short film he did called Rabbits.

>David Lynch thinks sitcoms are a weird esoteric language unto themselves and tried to encapsulate their surreality in his own way.

That's confirmed moreso when you watch an episode of the very short lived run of Mark Frost & David Lynchs...."Comedy" show, 'On The Air'
