What went wrong?
What went wrong?
everything. it's hilariously awful. bryan singer was probably too busy fucking kids during production to give a shit.
Apocalypse was a bad motherfucker
Apocalypse just sucks as a villain. He's just a generic power hungry bad guy. He sucks in the comics too.
Olivia Munn.
How did we go from capekino DoFP to this shit?
>JLaw
>Olivia Munn
>Sophie Turner
>Other worthless actors and actresses
>Lol magneto is evil again and loses his family
>Villain is shit tier like most capeshit
>omg wolverine cameo totally didnt see it coming
>plot is boring as shit
Why even bother introducing so many mutants just for them to stand around and not get any development? Angel, Psylocke, Jubilee and even Storm. Pretty much every bad Xmen film is always the same issue where they just try to cram everyone in without any consideration for getting the character right or whether we even fucking care about them
>Magneto commits mass murder across the entire planet, kills an unknown number probably in the hundreds of thousands at least, but Xavier and the other X-Men don't seem to have a problem with this and cheerfully greet him as an old friend
He's good in the cartoon. Did you know he's far beyond mutants as mutants are beyond humans?
No rogue perfect ass
>the guy who directed days of future past, did this movie
seriously what the fuck happened. it feels so fucking different. it went full camp
sound like vergil story in dmc5
Casting Munn as psylocke and the jewban from Star Wars as apocalypse was horrible. The whole X-men franchise has been a shitshow which is sad because if done right they could be really good movies. It’s a shame they were my favorite superhero group.
Shut your whore mouth Apocalypse is badass. It’s all Oscar isaacs fault.
>did you know
they stunt cast oscar isaac even though he's not really right for the part and put him in ridiculous make up that made him completely unrecognizable
I love Apocalypse because it looked and felt like a big budget 80's B-movie with a straight up villain and no bullshit. It was goofy but they played everything straight and that's why I adore it. It's what Batman & Robin could have been if played seriously. Aquaman is in the same boat. No matter how insane things are, as long as the characters take things seriously it keeps me invested. If they start quipping, winking and nodding then I lose interest!!!FACT!!!
>Apocalypse just sucks as a villain. He's just a generic power hungry bad guy.
And that's why I loved him. Reminds me of Red Skull. None of that fucking Magneto "whaaaaaa, my mommy and daddy were killed by humans thus I hate them blahblahblah".
Apocalypse and RK are great because they simply be like "yeah, fuck you, try to stop me".
Anyone who doesn't like this movie is a fucking pleb!!!FACT!!!
>seriously what the fuck happened. it feels so fucking different. it went full camp
Singer gave no fucks and that's why it's great, I mean, they have a bunch of people in stupid comic book costumes in fucking Auschwitz fer fuck sakes. Everything is played dead straight no matter how dumb and that's what I want from these type of movies but without the shitty color palette of Man of Steel or Batman v Superman!!!FACT!!!
>Jewban
Kekd n checkd
DOFP is apex Claremont, its LITTERALLY impossible to Male the story bad
Metallica's 4 Horsemen had to played
Dont forget
>copy quicksilvers high speed bit from the last film with forced comedy
Apocalypse should have been someone tall, deep-voiced, and exotically Mediterranean looking, like Javier Bardem or whatever.
Bro you good?
The only poignant part of the movie was Apocalypse' speech when all the missiles go up. The sequence plays out very nice but..
...even that was hammy when you consider all this time he's just shouting at a wall and his new horsemen just stare at him what the fuck he's talking about.
>What went wrong?
no proper Rogue in the entire franchise
YAG?
but it was kino tho
She was the only chance for taking out Captain Marvel.
nothing, it was the first xmen movie to actually feel like xmen and not just Wolverine adventures and some other guys
>Magneto starts a global earthquake that kills millions of people
>is never brought to task for this
>Charles even defends him because he sort of apologized or something
How could mutants ever claim that hatred of their kind was irrational after the events of that film?
How exactly was First Class wolverine adventures when he was in it for roughly 3 seconds?
You must be new around here.
oh that one didnt feel like xmen to me, since cyclops and storm or colossus or ice man or jean was not in it, that one was just Mystique and friends
Personally I liked the movie. It was mindless fun.
However, you can't setup a team, a villain, a villain's team and have it all work it out. You don't have the screen time for it.
They should have just left Apocalypse alive as the big bad like they did to Magneto.
Who would you cast as Rogue in MCU X-Men? Just wondering.
dark phoenix will make this look like kino
>constant reshoots
>overbloated budget
>marvel basically having to decide if to shaft it or not after the buyout but they need to get some money back
>in an attempt to try and distance it from the xmen brand that will be rebooted in a few years, remove xmen from the title
>another dark phoenix adaptation
>written by the same person who fucked it up last time
>this time he is also directing it
>sophie turner is the lead or one of the most important characters in the film
>she can’t act and is one of the worst miscasts i have ever seen. acting was like a wooden plank in apocalypse
>set 10 years after apocalypse and 30 after origins. characters haven’t aged a day
what else am i missing?
he blew his load early when he launched all the nukes. nothing else managed to be as exciting or interesting. also most of the actors are shit, even issacs some how.
>no wolverine to carry the movie
Everything, but you can sum it up with Bryan going in the opposite direction of what he originally did with the first movies that made them enjoyable.
They made a movie out of a comic book. And a bunch of dorks who need pictures in order to read a book were expecting it to be some literary masterwork. But instead it was more mindless drivel like all the rest of it.
Red Skull had a clear purpose though. Apocalypse is just evil for evil's sake and everything he does is random and even self-destructive.
