The trailers leading up to this were 10/10

I recently rewatched it. I had no idea how badly the actors truly read their lines. Really, really awful stuff. I still enjoy the movie for being an enjoyably shitty romp though.

This movie was my childhood and was dope as fuck.

The reason people hate this movie was because they wanted to be seen as "real" godzilla fans.
This is a great movie, much better than the '14 piece of shit. But it's not really a true godzilla film. That's fine with me since it's a new take on the monster. Very comfy with the rainy scenes in new york and drinking coffee in the back of the ups.

People have warmed up to the idea of it a lot more over the last few years thanks to the crybabies finally fucking off. They whined about wanting a proper Godzilla film and shut up when they got the '14 design, Shin Godzilla, and that awful anime trilogy.

It's still a terrible film, but the spin-off cartoon does everything in its power to fix most of the issues it presented.
