Par for the course. It isn't Disney or capeshit so of course it gets bad reviews. Audiences will love it. Guarantee it.
>Godzilla: King of the Monsters delivers spectacular kaiju action
What more do you need
They're literally only complaining about the human cast. The rest is great.
Some are calling for more drama in this action movie, which is weird, since critics never call for more action in dramas.
WTF Yea Forums YOU TOLD ME THE SCORE WAS GOING UP
This, reviewers are probably just mad Millie Bobby Brown doesn't come out to her mom that she's a lesbian before shooting one of King Ghidorahs heads with a rocket launcher. (she doesn't does she?)
AAAAAAAAAAAH CHINA SAVE ME
>ZILLABRO'S WTF
I admit I fell for the first movie which imo was only good for the first 15 minutes or so. But do you really care about fatzilla?
>fans love it
>Japan loves it
>critics hate it
As it should be
dont fat shame the king bro
The Nips started calling him that first, not even they like fatzilla.
>Not Disney
>Not political
why did you expect a positive score? Give me ONE movie that falls into this category that gets good reviews
all 3 john wick movies
m.youtube.com
I'm a fan guys trust me, look at my shirt.
I feel like many critics don't get that Godzilla is s multipurpose franchise that works well as dark methaphors of war horrors just as well as big fat monsters slapping each other to death.
The second the other Toho Kaijus were announced it was clear to everyone it was going to be the latter. People claiming Goji should always be an allegory for nuclear horror and politics have a really limited view on the franchise
John Wick movies are co-produced by Lionsgate and Showroad Productions, the latter of which is owned by Disney
the same critics give marvel and disneywars garbage 90%+ ratings. completely untrustworthy
The mouse is stomping Godzilla right now before they can establish the franchise.
I mean, maybe the characters are really bad. Though I don't remember that many Godzilla movies with good characters, or a good narrative. Godzilla vs Biollante maybe?
Stop promoting YouTubers.
>yes, i too let others i don't know and probably have different taste in movies than me decide what i should and shouldn't watch, how could you tell?
>watching a kaiju movie for the story
must have been the review of a woman.
This
Honestly I don't care
Yeah it would be cool if the monsterverse continued after Vs Kong with the likes of Biollante, Destoroyah and maybe new faces, but I'm fine with what we will surely get
So I'll just repeat myself. They're upset that the characters are just wheeled around just to showcase monsters fights. That's exactly what '14 was just with massive amounts of cock tease. Aaron nigger Johnson road coat tail on Monarch and was fisted into the military for the end battle. Now its just the Monarch team. What's the problem again
his shirt is that dragon kid from spirited away. wtf you talking about?
Here's my thing: when so many people are saying the exact same thing, you start to buy into it. Are the humans really SO fucking bad that they kill what should be the greatest monster fights of the century?
All of my favorite reviewers have shat on it, saying the monster spectacle becomes unimpressive after a while, which is just....it's super fucking depressing. Especially since focusing on the characters initially was what made me hate Kong Skull Island when I first watched it (I've since come to love how pulpy and weird that movie is)
OH NONONONO
Zillabros about to get served some shlock.
>current year
>Gojira movie
>flops
>people are surprised
>movie about giant monsters that fight each other
>critics complaining that it isn't citizen kane
Are movie critics headed towards a collapse? People have to see how ridiculous they've become eventually
What a fucking moron. '14 was not anticipation nor was it build up. It was a begrudging "finally" at the end of Godzilla 2014
>cool monster fight
>medicore human character
So like more than half of godzilla's movie? Not every godzilla movie need to be a critics of nuclear usage or political metaphor, i don't know why these dumbfuck critics thinks that. I much prefer seeing content zilla and ghidorav dukes it out, rather than 2deep4you western political analysis.
cringe and reaching hard
shazam
>>>>>>>>>>actually fucking caring about the story in a Godzilla movie
HEY LIZARD KEKS! HOLD STILL, THIS ONES GONNA STING
James Rolfe is the only person I'd "trust" with a Godzilla movie review. I know he wasn't a fan of how dark the first one was, and I've heard people say that this one is dark and rainy too. Guess we'll see.
Reminder that RT stopped being trustworthy a long time ago.
>2014
>anticipation and build up
What the fuck is this guy smoking, the only thing i got from 2014 is how fucking obnoxious the tease is. Also how the fuck is the military guy more engaging than what we got now? At least i'm not bored to the point of almost sleeping.
Interesting how Monsterverse and Conjureverse reviews only dropped substantially once it became apparent to critics they will be long lasting cinematic universes
You, uh...make a good point. Shit, maybe they really are trying to tank all other cinematic universes.
>film.avclub.com
here's your "critic" bro
>he cares what this person thinks
Sure, but you white people must buy our Huawei first.
>good action, bad story
huh, sounds like another Godzilla movie -- cant wait!
It'll be better when Avatar 2 flops
Disney just got poor reviews with Aladdin, Dumbo, Nutcracker, Wrinkle in Time, Mary Poppins etc
It's a shitty godzilla zoomer shitflick
I'm curious and I put this question out to actual Godzilla fans that grew up with the films. If you were to average all the movies between Showa, Heisei, and Millenium (while trying to put Nostalgia aside) what would you give the series out of 10.
Shazam was a bomb with mediocre reviews
>90%
>Mediocre
What?
Honestly, this only gives me hope. 2014 Godzilla had positive reception, and it was an absolute boring turd. I tend to just trust the opposite of whatever popular opinion is, especially Rotten fucking Tomatoes.
Godzilla movies are always the same shit. Why some people even bother watching them is beyond me.
>Millie Bobby Brown
The best Godzilla movie is still the 1954 one.
>Delivers spectacular kaiju action
Ok what exactly is the problem here
Same attraction to John Wick movies
Watch someone/something fuck shit up for 2 hours with minimal Hollywood tropes shoehorned into the plot
Dios mio........ La balenna escarlate!
Most Godzilla films, especially those of the Showa era are fun schlock but not actual good movies. They were fun when we were kids and because of nostalgia we still like them now. But don't get it confused, they aren't great movies.
If I had to guess, the cool wine aunt didn’t save the day at the last second
>Ballena
Meant for
I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this movie bros
Super based Dougherty is making it, it will be awesome if only for the style alone. Just see it, damn

Mouseshills are first on DOTR
What's Japan saying about it? I'm honestly surprised they give a shit at all, because it's not "theirs".
It didn’t do well at the box office but it got a much better critical reception than Godzilla with 90% on RT. You’re really reaching here.
>caring about the opinions of professional critics
They love it. They ship GodMoth
>People claiming Goji should always be an allegory for nuclear horror and politics have a really limited view on the franchise
At most, I'd say guys like Cuckman have probably seen '98, '14, maybe '85, and maybe Megalon and Sea Monster way back on MST3K, and the rest they know about the franchise is from times it's been discussed in the media, which always brings up the nuclear anxiety angle, and never the fact that 80 percent of the franchise is essentially WWE with dinosaurs.
I'm not really worried about my own impression, as I'm sure that I'll like it, but what bums me out is that this is going to scare normies away, since it was already a hard sell, and I really don't want this to flop.
\Shin died for this.
My own personal opinion? 8/10, because I've been a fan of Godzilla for as long as I've been able to form memories, and have a huge attachment to the franchise. Years before I even knew what stuff like Star Wars or Spider-Man were.
As objectively as I can muster? Probably like a 5/10, just because I acknowledge that the effects and acting are hokey as shit, and that's going to turn a lot of people off.
The funny thing is that I'm really forgiving when it comes to Godzilla, but have the same thoughts about Bond.
I've been rewatching a lot of the series in HD recently, and it's clear that they were obviously never meant to be watched with such clarity. Buildings are clearly pre-cut where they want them to break, matte paintings are super obvious, composite shots look horrifically bad, and strings are everywhere. I was cringing most of the way through Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.
>KOTM is the most Godzilla American Godzilla movie
>critics hate it
Hmmmmm
fpbp. Real shame too, the first film was great.
*A Hem*
Well, I've got to wait a whole extra week to see it, so I'm going to try and marathon through the entire series before then. So far, I've watched '54, KKvG, Ghidorah, Astro Monster, Smog Monster, Mechagodzilla, Terror of Mechagodzilla, '84, Biollante, and King Ghidorah, and I'm going to try and get through Mothra, Mechagodzilla II, and Spacegodzilla today. After that:
>Destroyah
>'98 (BIG maybe)
>GMK
>Against Mechagodzilla
>Tokyo SOS
>Final Wars
>'14
>Shin
>Kong Skull Island
Comfy shit so far. Has anyone else been doing this?
I thought this was the capeshit killer? What the fuck happened?
MovieBob liked it, and for all his faults as a person, he's still an actual fan of the original movies rather than a snobby (((film critic)))
Precisely, I own many of the Showa era films and Godzilla vs Biollante on VHS while the rest I have on DVD. I've watched several again in preparation for KotM and while I still retain a soft spot for many of them, I can't say they are good movies. They are fun and remind me fondly of my childhood when Godzilla was my favorite thing ever as I had toys ( Godzilla, Battra, Mothra, Biollante, Rodan, Mecha KG, Gigan and MechaGodzilla specifically) I was drawing "comics" on notebook Paper and stapling the sheets together. I was even afraid of watching Vs Mechagodzilla and vs Gigan multiple times as a kid because I hated seeing Godzilla bleed ( I wore out the VHS anyway). So to me, Godzilla is special but these movies can be kinda rough to watch now.
Because the 90s Godzilla movies aren't good. They're sloppily made, poorly acted, and badly written movies that fans hype up because they treat Godzilla "seriously." If the Heisei movies are the standard, there's no wonder fans think Godzilla movies don't have good characters or plots.
what are some other kinos critics will never ever understand, bros?
Yea Forums is cursed to always be wrong
Which films would you say come closest to being good?
I think Biollante is a genuinely good movie though
Freddy Got Fingered
just watched at the biggest screen in town
yes, the plot was rather thin and characters a bit flat but it does not take away at the central premise of the damn film, seeing monsters fight
maybe i'll make a sorta review but i'm just gonna say that the critics deserved to be flayed if they're criticizing this film to be thin while doing shit like giving 97% on black panther
Wait, people thought it was gonna be good? Even after the shitshow that was the last movie?
I just watched Biollante, and I think that one still holds up really damn well, although a good majority of the action happens at night.
>Yea Forums
>right
>muh human empathy
fuck off, this movie had unecessary person involved
the last movie had good godzilla/monster scenes and that's what mattered to me. i'm hoping this new one is the same but the trailers have disappointed me
This. I can't believe how these retarded critics fellate and worship black panther despite its horrible acting, cinematography and cgi. Bunch of fucking hacks.
>97% on black panther
if you disagree you're Hitler
“Eleven” from Stranger Things is box office poison. She is creepy looking
wtf captain fungus is based
based brie cheese
>I'M GONNA KNOCK YOU OUT
If you didn't realize at this point, I don't know what to tell you.
>critics actually give a shit about the story in fucking Godzilla movies of all things
Remember these are the same people who gave fucking Ghostbusters 2016 a fresh rating on there.
Something makes me suspect that they actually tried to pander to the pedos by casting her.
I'm still convinced that whoever cut that trailer together watched the MTV Movie Awards in the 90s.
Shazam.
I never judge movies based on trailers, let alone TV spots
TV spots are universally terrible
It's literally women tanking the score lol.
The bottom image is missing a Marvel/Disney logo
I think the Original, 1984, Vs Biollante and GMK are pretty well made films. But that's just me. Don't get me wrong though, I would still prefer watching many these films over a lot of stuff out now. In fact if I were to do a favorite 10, not in any order of be.
Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster
Godzilla vs Mothra (original)
Godzilla vs Biollante
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla
Gojira
Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (Heisei)
Against MechaGodzilla
Godzilla vs King Kong
1984
Monster Zero
I will always love Godzilla as a franchise, but it's obviously not a masterpiece in film making. And that's how it should be. And looking back, perhaps I came across a bit more harshly than I actually meant. Probably should have said "several of the films aren't good" instead of just a general aren't good.
Doesthis mean KotM is a movie women will never understand? Update the chart!
Wait it did?
Pretty much the only thing I remember from that movie was that Cranston's in it for a bit, and most of Godzilla was show in shadowy shots on a TV in the background pretty much.
>woman is the bad one in the movie
>"muh feelings"
>woman psychologically torturing the daughter
>woman dies leaving father and daughter to survive
i can see why this movie has very low scores
she looked more like a boy than a girl
No but I’ll play Azur Lane is that okay Chang?
pretty much all kaiju movies should be in that chart desu
*Astro Monster (instead of Zero) and GMK on that list
So 11
The score for '84 is criminally underrated. It was a nice update that actually felt properly epic. In honesty I'm sort of bummed they went with the Dragon Quest guy for Biollante, and then back to Ifukube after that.
the ending fight was the most impactful and fun thing i've seen in cinemas in years. the way godzilla is generally presented in the film is also impressive. he feels like a big, powerful force of nature
Actions were like this
-John Wick fights a killer to protect his dog
>Shows badass entrance of Wick and killer
>Suddenly camera shows dog whimpering for fucking 3minutes
>fight is over
And this makes spectacular scenes quite annoying
Yeah, but I'm glad it still holds up as a film. Stuff like Rodan flying over Disney in KvG looks terrible but it's still pretty funny. Though on the music side the Heisei era had pretty good music throughout.
I mean that's half of why I'm going.
15 isn't pedo tho retard
I've got a group of six going to this movie on Friday.
My friend and I who are the most hyped got a kick out of people saying there's "too much action".
I really wish that she would hurry up and turn 18, so Yea Forums will say that she's "hit the wall", and stop pretending that she's attractive.
Just came back from watching the movie.
There's certainly more monsters to fight here but I was a bit disappointed how Godzilla only clashed against Ghidora throughout the film, while Mothra and Rodan get to go at it a bit on Ghidora as well as each other.
Also MothraXGodzilla is real, the nips weren't just meming.
Are the fights good though. And if you've seen films from the different eras, where would you rank it?
monsters fights aren't dynamic combat scenes like in wick sweetie
Godzilla fighting flight-based enemies has always been kind of awkward.
>Rodan and Ghidorah strike each other
>Suddenly camera turns its focus to some unimportant drama about saving some mexican children. And It folds out for 3 minutes
>Rodan falls into the sea
>Fight ends
But not like this. Seriously, even the final showdown of Godzilla VS Ghidorah was like this.
>MothraXGodzilla is real
picked the fuck up
Kekzilla btfo
Retard
the wall is 16 dumbfag
You've seen the movie?
Comments are tearing him apart
To be fair it’s fucking Ghidora. Might as well send a toddler to fight a professional boxer.
Yes, I'm abroad now. And believe me, those scores are quite correct. If you are someone like OHMYGODGHIDORAHSOAWESOMETENOUTOFTEN, maybe you might enjoy it. But if not, I'm not sure.
That just makes it better, it makes the Sfx hold up really well, the rain during the final battle with the military also gives the scenes some additional depth. eats especially considering it has the best suit in the franchise, the following Heisei entries used what amounted to a cheap bootleg, after the original got stolen.
Fake and gay. That’s speech was just about the deleted captain marvel seen shitting on toxic masculinity
>If you are someone like OHMYGODGHIDORAHSOAWESOMETENOUTOFTEN
The fuck does that even mean?
Or maybe the characters and plot are really bad.
From what we know, they don't seem to be. Hell, they sound better than 2014.
I have to agree with I watched these movies since I can remember, so they're all sentimental to me. Being how fun they were when I was young and couldn't care less about human plots or themes, I'd rate it 8.5/10.
But objectively, the movies were 4/10. Some of them were downright stupid, while others aimed a bit higher and missed.
I wouldn't because I know the number would be very low.
Actually, writing is way worse than 2014.
>Showa, Heisei
fug. Does this mean the first Reiwa Godzilla is a baka gaijin film?
How? It, at the very least, sounds like a more interesting plot.
it'd be an honor to be called Hitler.
>Godzilla (2014): 75 %
>Godzilla: King of Monsters: 51 %
No! I am in charge here!
Are all those prequels to the new movie?
>critic scores
Watch the user score be 70+%
Plot itself should've been more simple. But movie tried to expand it too much and it became lame and tedious.
Who the hell thought putting about dozen supporting characters and 5 subplots in Godzilla movie was a good idea?
You can't trap the mouse. Mouse traps you.
>Rotten Tomatoes as a valid metric
Go see the fucking movie, retard OP.
I'm seeing it tomorrow and the plan for today is to watch Final Wars, 2014 and Shin tonight. I plowed through all the movies throughout this month, the good and the bad. It's been a journey.
>Lower than Aladdin on both sides.
And people said this film was going to steamroll Aladdin both critically and financially. Get fucked Kaiju fags, and do yourself a favor and buy more endgame tickets for number one movie. Doing so will finally rid dances with wolves in space.
this autismo is lying, japs think it's average to mediocre
>Final Wars...and Shin
Unironically two of the best, I love them so much. What did you think of GMK? Favorite Showa?
Not even loli girl from stranger things can save this piece of shit. Shin Godzilla died for this.
>And people said this film was going to steamroll Aladdin both critically and financially
Can you refer me to even ONE single post that said this? Just one.
The average score is higher than the first one on Letterboxd
kek
Is kong the only sequel to this?
Basically this. Most normies would consider 95% of the entire Godzilla franchise to be shit. They completely miss the appeal of the movies which boils down to big dumb looking rubber monsters fighting each other while stomping on model city dioramas. Throw in a crazy plot that involves aliens or time travel or something just as bizarre and boom you have a Godzilla movie. I'm not saying Godzilla can't be serious, but Godzilla in concept is a really goofy idea to begin with and I find the Godzilla movies that are self aware enough to embrace this and run with it are the most entertaining.
Must be trolls giving it negative reviews because of their politics. It's impossible for movies to be bad in this day and age and any negative review or opinion is literally just internet trolling.
>What did you think of GMK?
Loved it. Godzilla as a bad guy again was cool and Ghidorah as a good guy was weird but enjoyable. The human plot was also interesting enough. Probably the best of the Millennium films I've seen, but we'll see if Final Wars supplants that.
>Favorite Showa?
Tough question. I really liked King Kong VS Godzilla, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla VS Mecha-Godzilla... I think I'm gonna go with KKVG, the plot was tastefully comedic and the final brawl between the two icons lives up to the hype.
>Early screening of Aladdin was met with same feel as it’s getting now
>Early screening of Godzilla was anything but negative
For once the mouse didn’t shill it’s movie by hiring handpick critics
I was going to see it but then I saw how cringe Godzilla fans were
glad it's flopping critically
>2014 got 75%
>we needs more human stories!
Movie is bad user and shin died for nothing. Just use your money on Endgame instead of watching this boringly bad Godzilla movie
6/10
The early Showa films are colorful, classic cheese. GvMG 74 is pretty good, too. However the mid-60s and most 70s movies are objectively pretty bad, though I guess they're fun for diehard fans.
The Heisei series is more balanced take on Godzilla. Not "darker" than the Showa era but more mature. Production quality declined in the 90s when the movies started getting rushed.
The Millennium films were a bust to me. I can't say I liked any of them. G2K, GMK, and GXMG had their moments but overall I found them flat and uninspired, with some really bad special effects.
Overall I'd rank the series as OK. Lots of peaks and valleys.
>critics don't like a giant monster movie
What the holy fuck did you fucking expect you goddamn piss slurping truck stop whore?
>average to mediocre
what
Great taste all around user. King Kong and Astro Monster were my two favorite showa as well. Probably Astro Monster just a smidge more, but god damn King Kong was just fucking hilarious on top of being genuinely captivating. I preferred GMK just a little more that Final Wars, but honestly it's really fucking close and definitely the second best of the millennium at the very least. Final Wars is also just fucking funny, I don't want to spoil anything for you, but there are some car scenes that are absolutely legendary in this regard... Or at least to me because I'm an idiot.
it means it's shit
>Just use your money on Endgame
>thread has people saying it's either shit or amazing
Yeah, I'm thinking it's kino.
If it was shit it would be described as bad or terrible, not average to mediocre
The most polarizing are always the best.
Sounds like it'll be a good time. Really, just the idea of Goji smashing through a dozen or more monsters in the span of two hours is enough of a draw for me.
That's fair, I'd probably around 7/10. Part of me feels this defense force of "we know writing is bad, but you shouldn't expect that just fights" is a little ridiculous and this is coming from a person whose followed the series since childhood.
Fighting for a lost cause tard. Godzilla has been and always will be a niche franchise. Even the Japs thought this movie was worse than 2014
Remember that cursed picture with flopachu, flopzam, floplita and flopzilla against captain billion? TV got absolutely humiliated
>expect a niche movie to be classified as good by fucking normies
it's pretty much a good indicator that it's a kaiju kino
>You can't just have two hours of kaiju slapping each other around
As it was written, stays a reality
>Amerimutt Godzilla
>RT: le 56%
Pottery
Wait for the audience score to be released. That’s usually what I do. You can easily tell which audience post are shills and which are genuine and form your opinion from there.
>woman
yep it's totally kino then
>shitty 150 minute VFX reel of CGI cities getting destroyed while shitty CGI monster goes rawr is shit
Wow, who could have imagined? It's literally the big budget equivalent of a child playing with monster toys (as is capeshit, just replace the plastic monsters with plastic superheroes), and has the same level of storytelling and cinematography.
Normalfags will eat it up though. How normalfags went from shitting on comics for being childish and stupid (and they were right) to eating it all up baffles me, but I guess normalfags don't really have own opinions, so the moment the media told them to like capeshit and its ilk, they all started liking it.
post source
The amount of normalfags defending it in comment sections of reviews are hilarious. It's like they're grasping at this film to give their life meaning.
It’s all CG, no suitmation right? Does even Toho use suits anymore? Practical shots will always age better if done right.
Have sex
Ok, bend over
No surprised that someone with such a shit opinion is a faggot
Just look it up in Japanese twitter. Most be saying Shin died for this filth and still think Godzilla is a fat fuck
Don’t give it that much credit, it’s actually now 50 percent
It’s only gay to be on the receiving end. Re: the greeks, who created Western culture
>Does even Toho use suits anymore?
Shin used a mix of suit, CG, and props on wire iirc.
Sure thing incel
>Shin died for this
Are you guys memeing or was a Shin sequel really shutdown?
Do they want suitmation back too
Shin was all-CG. The prop was scrapped. There were still miniatures, though.
Wrong, there's literal translation of initial Jap impressions and they're basically saying that they loved it.
Why the fuck we are getting so much godzilla?
In 5 years:
Godzilla 2014, Shin Godzilla, Godzilla KoM
>Empire
>bad review
>reviewer admits he liked Zilla 98
Why should I take him seriously
Anno is a hack
Yes and no. They mostly just want a sequel for shin since almost everyone in japan loved shin to the point it replaced the Hesei Godzilla statue with the shin one outside Togo studios
Don't forget the anime trilogy
98 was a jurassic park movie, not a godzilla movie
Doughtry is a bigger hack. Out of alll the movies he made to be the first one to be shit, KOTM was to be his first shit movie
Still a better movie critically and financially than this one
>Please let me suck your toes, Mistress Larson! I've been criticizing the toxic masculinity of this new Godzilla movie, embodied through this chauvinistic "King" Ghidorah character. He doesn't even the decency to quip!
not unless it results in all sequels being cancelled immediately and a 16 year hiatus like 98 did
>98 Godzilla
>bad
>(((critic))) complaining that we see too much monster action and not human drama
KINOZILLA
Just saw it and it was great. WTF
Was KoM a Toho co-production or something that took possible work away from a sequel?
>focus on kaiju battles and spectacle
>larger focus on monster characterization
>poor reception from bitchy sjw critics
>fans love it
he did it. the absolute madman actually made a godzilla movie
No you didn't.
Not every film needs to focus on the psychology of human characters.
That was the premiere. You're dumb if they weren't told what they can and can not say, unless they want Yakuza to rough them up.
Look more broadly.
>98 Godzilla
>not bad
They get it.
There is an agreement that a Japanese and an American Godzilla movie won't be released in the same year together.
I don't think anything really prevents toho from making more shin movies. The theory I heard was that they just dont want to have two godzilla movies competing with each other.
Surely we aren't pretending that most of the series as a whole isn't average as a WHOLE at best right?
Zilla 98 was fucking great
Was this real?
No it wasn't.
>implying that's a jap and not some weeb loser living in japan
are you gonna say that the japanese posters in Yea Forums are actually japanese?
>most complaints are because there is TOO MUCH monster fighting
Based. Buying my tickets now.
Yes, Star Wars fanboys shat all over Godzilla 98 and gloated that The Phantom Menace would be a much better film. Lmao at how that turned out.
Show me these negative JP reviews I can't find them on twitter
Not him, but can you provide actual evidence that the Japanese reaction has been mediocre so far? Actually post a pic or link of 5 or more Japs saying they didn't like it.
my girl!!
I want a Kaiju suit, some of the fan ones at those Godzilla cons are kino
youtube.com
HOLY MOTHER OF KINO
What will the Godzilla defenders say if he says KotM is shit?
Even just to wear one would be amazing.
who
Godzilla movies aren't meant to be criticized like regular movies, because they're a completely separate experience.
If you are a hardcore Godzilla/Kaiju fan, you'll get it and take it to be what it is, nothing more or less. You're already expecting some wonky human dialogue, plots that don't quite make sense or go anywhere, and going along with it just to experience the kaiju on kaiju spectacle. That's not to say there aren't standout kaiju movies with great human characters but one should never expect it. As much as it sounds like "just turn your brain off bro", it is what it is.
We will say he's an irrelevant faggot and his opinions are shit

Exactly this.
How are you fucking plebs not sick of all this shit yet?
his vids kept popping up in my rec's but I can't get through more than 3 minutes of them anymore they are so boring now. Haven't watched any of his new AVGNs in couple years either. It's over.
You know outside of this place, 8 haven't seen much Godzilla talk. Granted, I don't watch TV anymore but all the movie ads on YouTube keep telling me to see that retarded looking nigger horror Ma instead
>dude it's okay that these movies are garbage popcorn flicks for low iq retards because that's what WE, THE FANS, WANT
Not gonna lie, it would be a bit of a downer if even he ends up not liking this movie.
Endgame review vs Godzilla review

any camrips bros?
Lol thats unfortunate
He's pretty accurate on the quality of Godzilla films, so his view might be pretty accurate. He's already said based on trailers he's tired of fights at night and rain.
Going to be a 32 year Hiatus after GvK is done and out of the way
>Katie
Can we have "Stacey" replaced with "Katie?" I think it fits a lot better
There will never be a good American Godzilla film. I mean, look what they’re aspiring to: the original Godzilla was a decent flick but everything that followed was ‘bad’ from a critic’s point of view - I know they have a cult following but they’re not ‘great’ films by traditional standards, which is how the American films will be judged
If they want to appease the cult following just make it total shlock with monster fights and scientists screaming
Honestly, I think he might like it. Just saw his re-review of 2014, and his criticisms for that movie can be summed up:
>Not enough Godzilla
>Cutaways tired him out instead of serving as the buildup to the final fight
>Too dark in some scenes
>Cranston was wasted
Plus, AVGN is more of a traditional Godzilla fan, so at best he might excuse the human plot and characterization. He's bound to appreciate the fanservice and callbacks to the Japanese movies.
>taking the opinions of womyn and men who voluntarily castrate themselves on fayher/son kino seriously
???
Yeah apparently the action is great, so I expect this to be rated fresh eventually
I'm expecting that to be his only major complaint with KOTM desu.
kys
Yeah but if the story is good wouldn't the Godzilla movie be even better?
It's sad how the only on point review of this movie is this cringey shit
youtu.be
Anyone been to one of those G-cons and see the good cosplays up close? Must be massive time intensive projects
>Escapist
cringe
that's really bad news for your movie, gojira cucks, how sad
I literally said it was cringe, I don't know what you expected
It was part of an agreement signed back in 2012 when WB got the rights to use the Godzilla franchise. A part of it was Toho couldn't make live action Godzilla movies until the contract expired after 2021. Shin was spared because it was already in production when the deal was signed.
Millie Vanilli is box office poison
from japan :)
And is one reason why Shin wont have sequel until then. But because of KOTM's and how that's turning out. All interest for Godzilla will be borderline dead outside of Japan.
Based and cute
IGN is IGN though
>IGN
Credibility is step lower than RT
How does one get qualified to be a professional critic?
have the right last name
>rachelsreviews.net
It's literally her own website. RT will include anyone's scores. This is also why metacritic is better.
all review aggregators are trash
I don't listen to critics that praised Captain Marvel, Black Panther or Aladdin. They're the same shitty ones that panned cult classics now.
Telling you right now that KOTM is as much as a cult classic as alien resurrection
Aladdin didn't get good reviews dude
didn't some user say that overall they think its average to mediocre?
It will at least have a better box office, rating, and not flop like Godzilla King of the Incels
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!
>1 (ONE) MORE DAY!!
Not saying it'll become one. Just saying that I don't want to listen to cucks that praised the flavor of the month just because of the political debate/agenda surrounding it.
And yet some reviewers on Twitter shitted on Godzilla hard and "loved" Aladdin even if it's absolute trash
>gold laden
anti-semetic dog whistles! Japan needs more immigration NOW
lmao absolutely based.
Like Aladdin, you rather watch the original film KOTM was based on, and that film is the same one that gif came from.
Well I mean yeah, that's honestly correct.
>Heisei still has the best posters in movie history though
yep.
Ballsey as fuck
Shin won't have a sequel. Toho wants to start a new continuity after Legendary is done.
I fucking love Alien Resurrection.
Dude just turn your brain off!
OH NONONONO THIS CANT BE HAPPENNG BROS!!!
>believing some random retard on Yea Forums
no one gives a shit about Alita
its a trash movie anyways
which godzilla movie should I watch?
Oh shut the fuck up
Shin and the anime ones
Personally, I prefer a movie that engages my sense of civic progressiveness at all times. Godzilla didn't even demolish the Washington Monument, BUILT BY FUCKING SLAVES
GEORGE WASHINGTON WAS A SLAVE OWNER
ABOLISH WHITENESS
VOTE DNC
>movie doesn't have a good plot
>Yea Forums is defending this
Why?
Because we need something to defeat capeshit.
why?
Because it has to be done, user.
I don't care about any of this.Just tell me whether our guy CHADzilla fucks up niggerkong or not.
