Lain and Texhnolyze are cringy pretentious smoothbrain shit. No wonder you use "kino"
why does lain trigger retards so much? you faggots get so defensive over an anime you were too dumb to understand and you expect everyone to give a shit about your garbage taste.
the only good one there is mushishi
>watched anime once on funimation
>no code guess

Lol.
>Complaining about ABE shows when Tatami and Eva are on there
Too much info for brainlets to handle
Sorry gaylords the best anime ever made is M.D. Geist

>Anime Berserk

This
tatami galaxy is absolute kino
Redline is genuine kino.
But these are all good anime
They're either trying to AMOG other fans by being so intellectual that Lain is beneath them, or they are offended that an animated TV series is something other than sitcom jokes.
What are all of these? I wanna watch them
To be fair cowboy bebop, dbz, digimon, and all the non filler episodes of naruto ARE kino
no dude...
Goku going SSJ for the first time and Gohan first going apeshit vs Cell are absolutely kino moments in DBZ.
Do you also enjoy pizza
Mushishi.
Literally who doesnt enjoy pizza. What is that even trying to imply? Fucking retarded
Half of those are trash.
Code Geass was a fucking cringefest and I say this as a fan.
THIS is what Kino looks like, plebs

Welcome to the NHK
Most of these shows are ok to great, but there are a couple of duds. I won't say which ones.
>no Anzumanga Daioh
>no bebop
You're just barely below the surface
CG is enjoyable for the cast which is really well done. But the plot borders on nonsensical.
you forgot strawberry panic
People who make this kind of grids are often insecure about enjoying charming and fun shows, and instead go for the shows that will make them look the smartest.
Ironically they end up looking insincere and posturing, and like they have no taste of their own.
Not to say the shows in the OP aren't crative, interesting, and resonating. A couple of those are indeed absolute kino.
>Implying bebop isn't the most entry level show there is
It's good though
It's not.
It's literally a masterpiece and probably the only anime to truly transcend anime and become a masterpiece of art regardless of medium.
It's not even as popular as a lot of the stuff in this thread.
FLCL is the token comedy for OP's grid.
>t. doesn't watch anime
Also it's insanely popular. You are deluded if you think otherwise
Still OP went for the abstract comedy that's regarded as a masterpiece in the west
I know every anime referenced in this thread.
I've seen plenty of anime. No just shonen shit and
>berserk
>flcl
>lain
>dbz
>texnolyze
>mushishi
>galactic heroes
>nge
All of which are popular in their own right.
Some of those picks are good but I've seen a lot of anime and Bebop still holds up as being a masterpiece of story telling. It's a masterpiece not just for an anime but in general.
>it's popular
Not an argument.
Bebop is one of the most well-known, popular and accessible anime in existence.
>probably the only anime to truly transcend anime and become a masterpiece of art regardless of medium
How does it "transcend anime"?
The Tatami Galaxy
lets clear some things out
berserk is some kind of porno fetish for people into rape-bdsm things
and an absolute TRASH
There aren't a lot of anime, even great ones that would hold up to great works from other mediums.
On that list would potentially be things like Akira, the original Ghost in the Shell, and certainly Bebop.
Dude I like bebop a lot too.
I take issue with your statement that it is not popular, when it's one of the quintessential gateway anime, on par with TTGL and Death note.
Saying you like bebop is like saying you like the godfather. It's great, but it doesn't make you a connoisseur.
It's fine.
There's not even all that fetish pandering in the Golden age arc, except for the fujobait.
You've seen almost no anime.
>overwatch picture
>complains about berserk being too gory
mega ultra sòy
holy shit how basic can you get
Every Berserk adaptation is SHIT and anyone saying otherwise hasn't read the source material and has no idea what they're missing.
>Bebop still holds up as being a masterpiece of story telling. It's a masterpiece not just for an anime but in general.
Bebop is shit. I don't get the appeal. It has like 25 episode, 20 of which who are filler. The filler episodes are mindlessly boring, generic "villain of the week" CW type (with the exception of the episode with Pierrot, that one was good). As far as storytelling goes, it's average. It has its cool moments, but neither Vicious, nor Spike have any depth, let alone the rest of the cast.
>115758212
I liked the movies. Relatively well animated and the story is mostly intact.
>filler
It's an original series, not an adaptation stalling for time.
They're not part of the main story, hence - they're filler.
Jesus I hate plotfags so fucking much.
I guess it figures. This is Yea Forums after all.
I'd argue that Bebop isn't that well known any more. I don't ever hear people talking about it. It isn't the most obscure but it sure as hell isn't as popular as things like DBZ, Naruto.
It's a bit older at this point and most of the people I meet who watch anime are more into Shonen shows. I don't know why people are acting like Bebop is some massively popular cultural phenomenon anymore with merchandise flying off shelves and video games being made.
It's definitely not the most popular anime by any stretch. Especially these days when you have plenty of shit tier anime on Hulu and Netflix that normies get hyped about. You don't even see Bebop regularly at anime and geek conventions.
I don't know why people get all faggy about bringing up Bebop. I wonder if some of these people have actually seen it or hate it because they are contrarian faggots. It's pretty universally lauded as a masterpiece by critics, people who don't even watch anime, and those that have seen it. This isn't a controversial view.
It's definitely one of the best anime of all time and still holds up. This thread and the OP are full of shit just as if not more popular (and not just 10 years ago, but today) and many of these anime are full of fanservice and filler. Yet someone mentions Bebop which has really earned its place and the contrarian faggots defending the kind of shit posted in this thread get triggered.
Code Geass is shit.
>memegelion
Lol
>quintessential gateway anime
It's really not anymore. Bebop is usually something recommended for someone who is already into anime and/or shows an interest in more serious anime.
Most of the people watching anime these days tend to get in watching shit like Naruto or Attack on Titan. Bebop isn't obscure but it's not the most discussed or popular by any means. Go to any anime convention, or to any anime forum, mainstream social media. It's hardly ever mentioned. That's not to say it doesn't ever get mentioned but it's not uber popular like a lot of stuff in this thread.
I read the source material and loved the 2013 movies.
Stop being an aspie.
So what retard, that doesn't negate what he said.
A show does not have to dedicate every episode to advancing an overarching story.
It may not be as popular as it once was, but it's still very popular. The upcoming live action adaptation has also put it back in the spotlight. Dragon Ball and Naruto are both on-going franchises so obviously people will talk about them more.
Bebop was for many people their first anime, because it aired on Toonami. Content-wise I can't think of a more accessible anime for a Western audience. It's practically tailor-made for them.
>masterpiece of story telling
Isn’t Bebop episodic?
A lot of the "filler" episodes probably went over your head.
>spike doesn't have any depth let alone the rest of the cast
That's just not true. Bebop doesn't beat you over the head with exposition and telling you who characters are. It shows you. You probably missed a lot of subtle things in every episode. I did the first time I watched it.
It's written like novels in which things like foreshadowing, analogy, parallelism, and other literary devices are used to flesh out characters and world.
It does, because filler means original episodes that are created to prevent the show from catching up to the manga. This only happens in very few shows.
Sieg Kaiser Reinhardt
Why are people so crazy about FLCL. It's just over the top animation. Nothing deeper or more interesting than that.
>tfw your favorite annie may came out like 7 years ago and will NEVER get a sequal
Jinrui wa suitai shimashita
Bebop’s plot is lacking, but it excels at world-building, attention to detail, and shot composition. I would recommend it to aspiring directors, as what they show and how they show it keeps the series compelling.
>A show does not have to dedicate every episode to advancing an overarching story.
It does? What's the point of the rest of the episodes? They establish very little. The tone is entirely different, the setting is mostly different in each one, they don't make sense and usually they come from nowhere. They're also very predictable in their resolution. Then you suddenly have 1-2 main episodes and then you're suddenly switched back to the filler. And it's not like the anime has 100 episode that the filler would be justifiable, it has like 25. LOTGH has 109 episode from what I remember and each of them was absolutely significant to the story.
Like what subtle things? You Bebopfags keep wanking over the show and how good it is, but it's not. It's Naruto level type of anime.
>world-building
There is no world-building. There's just very generic Wild West in space kind of feel, but world building? Pshh.
>pokemon isn't kin-
Prosit!
>dragon ball
>sword art online
>naruto
>my hero academia
>hunter x hunter
>bleach
>gurren lagan
>one piece
>death note
>attack on titan
>one punch man
>gundam
These are popular anime. Bebop was popular years ago because of Toonami and even then most people I talk to say they remember it from Toonami but never really watched it, just an occassional episode. It's well known in anime communities but outside of that, it's not.
This isn't 1999 anymore and even then, it wasn't as popular as most of the shit out at the time. It's not "unpopular" but it's certainly not the most popular thing. Not even top 10. Why are you making a big deal about it's popularity anyway in the thread full of popular anime?
What does that have to do with the quality of the show. It's fucking great.
