That's really a big sticking point than most recognize. Yeah it's kind of dumb but when the rest of the film is a shot-for-shot adaptation it makes the change REALLY fucking dumb.

Pretty much this. 2 is only redeemed due to the outstanding performance by the doc oc actor. But it was already going to far down the Rami "camp" hole, and 3 was at the bottom of that hole.
First Spider-Man is basically the perfect Spider-Man movie though and opened the door for all he cApeshit that followed. Darkman is still Rami's best superhero movie though.
