Do drugs, everything works out in the end eventually, you can even become senator

>do drugs, everything works out in the end eventually, you can even become senator
Is this true?

demonstrably yes

for every senator, congressman and president yes. but not for you or me or 99% of people

If you're rich and doing an expensive stimulant drug like cocaine then yes

If you live in a trailer park and are smoking meth or weed or popping oxys probably not

I've done opiates and smoked pot for the past several years but ive never done any "uppers". Lately I've been tempted to try adderall or cocaine because i'm sick of always being half-asleep when i'm high or chronically low-energy. but i'm worried how ill take it because my dad was a coke addict for several years

Should I just stop using drugs or is coke and adderall truly the drug choice of a winner?

Just try some adderall it's easy to stop.

If I could find some in the first place. Definitely can't a script from a doctor.

Adderall I heard can be more subtle. It's more like operating on peak 100% wakefulness and focus (with a single standard dose), something you do normally experience from time to time or may recall, and staying that way for a while. You likely won't feel anything novel like you would've the first time with pot or opiates, you might feel side effects, you'll feel the energy, but it'll all be something you've felt before.

Only retards that think wolf of Wall Street is a realistic movie. All stimulants make you sweat and shit a lot. Especially cocaine. Also once you start using stimulants you can pretty much forget about eating anything for the rest of the day. And even worse than any of that, what goes up must come down. Opiates and weed don’t make you crash but when the stimulants wear off you’re not going to want to do anything but lay in bed and think about how badly you want to kill yourself

The idea of being able to "work out all the bugs" in a drug this powerful is basically more stupid than the whole concept of a drug allowing you access to "100% of your brain"

All I'm really interested in is the energy part. But not if I'm gonna crash to "compensate" for all that energy afterward, like user is advising

Just do amphetamines like a fucking adult.

He definitely takes non-therapeutic amounts if he's saying suicidal (not literally though) pain is par for the course. Food also isn't an issue if you plan for it, you just won't get that normal initial flicker of thought that you should go eat something.

It really is one of the shittest premises in film.

I am up to a full pint of espresso before lunch and another by dinner. Can confirm, even caffeine will do this, even when your tolerance normalizes the amount. All I get now is the existential fatalism.

>not taking every advantage you can in order to get ahead

why wouldn't you do this?

This movie has such a strange message. Sure, though understanding the substance he's ingesting, the main character learns to balance and optimize his addiction to become something better... But every single other person who has used this drug in the film besides our guy has died, gotten debilitated, or traumatized by it.

It was cool to see substance abuse work for someone, but the reality is that people like him are in the 1%, and the other 99% is usually something more miserable.

Pretty much this. I can buy a drug that makes you smarter because you use 'more of your brain' (despite that false 'fact' being shut down many times) but he should have ended the movie strung out and completely fucked but I feel like they wanted to go with the happy ending in a way.
I know there is a book I believe and I'm not sure if it ends the same there but as far as a movie goes a spiraling downfall would have been interesting. Instead there is a time skip, he bounces back and the issues with the drug has all been miraculously worked out.

Not everything was solved miraculously. Eddy paid a lab $2 million to synthesize the NZT and weed out all side effects. He basically recreated NZT without side effects and that’s why he didn’t die from it.

I would definitely try to get ahead in many ways but I don't think I'd have any desire to be come any political figure

>Eddy paid a lab $2 million to synthesize the NZT and weed out all side effects.
I mean more the fact that this was even possible with a drug that potent and mind altering. Not miraculous in the sense that it doesn't have an explanation. It just feels too "and in the end everything was fine" of an ending/resolution.

Any drug can easily be synthesized even by a small lab. The hard part of the process was to get rid of the side effects. This would’ve required human studies and countless trials. But with $2 million you could easily do it in a very short time frame.

Anyone else watch the tv show? It was kind of shitty but it was pretty comfy at the same time, I liked watching it

It’s shit but it adds some things to the story. I wished Fincher would’ve directed the series and had Bradley cooper as lead.

I actively avoided it because I enjoyed the movie and didn't want to ruin everything by watching a crappy show. I would have if it was still Cooper
