>Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you enough clairvoyance to find the rebels' hidden fortress.
>Sure I was in my early twenties during the Clone Wars and considering my rank most likely fought in them and can personally remember when thousands of Jedi were using their devotion to that ancient religion to mega flip and magically conjure up shit all over the galaxy as intergalactic sorcerer cops. Hell, I even remember when the Jedi were an officially recognized political organization whose headquarter was located in a gigantic government building on the capital planet across the street from the Intergalactic Senate where the Jedi were called upon by the Senate frequently to use their mystical sorceress powers to lend aid in conflicts and political issues but that won't stop me from being dismissive of the existence of supernatural powers!
Lucas just forgot what made the magic of the first movies when he made the prequels.
Nathan Harris
Pretty sure he forgot to watch them too
Cameron Jenkins
I mean, there are people around (heh) that think the Earth is flat despite numerous evidence to the contrary.
Humans are fucking stupid
Ayden Richardson
>he doesn't know that the earth is flat
Jonathan Morales
>something can't be forcibly memoryholed in the span of ~20 years by a totalitarian government I'm willing to bet talking about the jedi is akin to talking about Tianamen Square in China.
Chase Cruz
>OT makes the Jedi to be more legendary than something mundane to the point they're literally everywhere, numbering in the thousands
>PT makes them mundane to the point that they're literally everywhere, numbering in the thousands
Not when they're all made generals during the Clone Wars. It also becomes far more known when these guys have been connected to the Republic over a thousand generations, so roughly 15k-20k years. Factoring in hyperspace lanes existing longer than the Republic as well as the Jedi, it would be absurd to think that knowledge of the Jedi or the Force for that matter would be considered bullshit.
Colton Taylor
PS: OP’s second greentext assumes that what you yourself saw as the audience of a specifically focused movie with special insight into secret dealings is somehow what everyone in this fictional galaxy would’ve seen in their own corner of the world. While you saw jedis fighting on geonosis, Motti probably was fighting on some other planet or maybe even just reading about it in the news, and maybe jedi involvement wasn’t even talked about or completely covered up.
The immediate assumption that characters in a movie must know what the audience knows is a mistake a lot of redditor fedoraists and wannabe autists make.
Carter Turner
I think the galaxy was so big that entire systems were never directly involved with clone wars or ever seeing a Jedi.
I think the Jedi number were always limited and a relatively small percentage of the population ever come into contact with them
Joshua Myers
>3,000,000 inhabited planets >some of those have a Trillion people
>epic battle to decide the fate of the galaxy is 10 ships vs 20 ships with maybe 100 fighters flying around
Yepp. Shit writing. Lucas was a fraud. I watched A New Hope last night. Holy fuck the amount of coping star wars fags do is ridiculous.
Vader: "When I left you, I was the student. Now I'm the master"
???? He was left to die after being BTFO
Han mentions that he had been all over the galaxy and didn't believe in the force. Yes, he was a young child at the time of the clone wars but surely people still talked about the jedi.... right??? They had such a massive presence ffs. I mean there had to of been war footage of some of the jedi doing crazy shit.
Jonathan Barnes
I've never met a Delta Force or SAS operator. I don't doubt they exist.
Benjamin Nguyen
Looking back it's kind of tragic what a well meaning boomer Lucas is. He put these out and a bunch of cynical too cool to enjoy anything Gen Xers screamed "THAT MAKES NO SENSE. PLOT HOLE. PLOT HOLE. ZERO OUT OF TEN. NITPICK. NITPICK." and he's just a sad boomer saying. "What's.. a plot hole? It's just supposed to be fun. Flash Gordon made no sense and I loved it ..."
Normally I'd agree with this sentiment, but the prequel films seem to rely so heavily on the OT in terms of story and lore. Like the whole plot revolves around Anakin Skywalker in a 40 to 50 year time period. It's really hard to watch a Lucas star wars flick and think, yep, this works as a stand alone film
Aiden Sullivan
>Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you enough clairvoyance to find the rebels' hidden fortress.
This is a fucking badass line though. There is a certain cadence to it and has a nostalgic feel with the word choice.
Carter Ramirez
It's not that its standalone, it's that he doesn't really think that hard about the logic of it because he's not from an era when people were so cynical. People said, "HOW DID ANAKIN BUILD 3PO? THAT MAKES NO SENSE. THAT'S SO DUMB. WHY DIDN'T HE RECOGNIZE HIM IN ANH? 0/10 etc. etc" and George is just like "People really like 3PO so lets put him in the movie because it would make people happy"
Zachary Richardson
Yup the emperor didnt have force powers and vader and obi-wan were the only jedi left. OT fags treat the OT like a religion when Lucas retconned A New Hope multiple times
Dominic Reed
Star Wars's civilizations last 30,000 years i find it hard to believe no one has scientifically analyze the Force by then I mean seriously George is fucking retarded 30,000 years humans would be galaxy legoing gods by that time.
Adrian Lewis
>"Admiral Motti. What do you think your home planet would look like after I fucked it with my Death Star cock?" Jesus christ Raimi
Jeremiah Evans
>the entirety of Star Wars is just a pissing contest between the backwater of backwaters planets Makes Disney War have a lot more sense, too
Jaxon Peterson
Could be wrong but I believe the idea in the first film is that the Emperor was a weaselly politician who was pretty much just a figurehead while the Imperial military ruled. You definitely don't get the idea that Tarkin was taking orders from anybody. The idea that at the top of the rigid, stiff, fascistic, militaristic Empire there's an evil old wizard with super powers really makes less sense the more you think about it.
Jaxon Lewis
And yet all the movies involve the same group of characters running into eachother.
You would think with a universe so big that there might be other battles/characters worth making movies about instead of..midk...a 4th death star movie?
Xavier Martin
They believed the Jedi was real, but they didn't know the extent of their powers. Probably thought their powers came from some scientific explanation instead of the Force.
Carson Bennett
Star Wars is a fairytale, don't try to find "plot holes" in it because logic is not what its about

Vader, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you not even an answer because you don't deserve one. May God have mercy on your soul.
>being a Flat Earth Virgin instead of a Hollow Earth Chad lmao pathetic
Xavier Martin
Compared to JJ he was pretty good.
William Robinson
He never negates the existence of the Jedi and neither does Han. He just doesn't believe they have magical abilities. Plenty of priests running around, but also plenty of people don't buy into their stories about Jesus walking on water.
Jacob Thompson
What a fucking retarded comparison. I bet you that there are plenty of people in other countries that never heard of either special forces.
Jayden Collins
This. Why are prequel haters aka fake OTfans so fucking stupid?
>Sure I was in my early twenties during the Clone Wars The actor would have been 29 or 30 when they filmed that scene.
Cooper Miller
Why did people look so old back then
Wyatt King
Torus earth ftw
Ryder Rogers
Fewer people tried to extend adolescence well into adulthood back then.
Parker Ortiz
Is this really the problem of the prequels, though? ANH kinda implied the jedi were top dogs in the republic before empire and Vader started hunting them down. Plus it’s not really a problem anyway, he never said the jedi (or the sith for that matter) didn’t exist, he just didn’t believe they had extraordinary powers. If I had to pick actual contradictions between PT and OT, then I would choose Leia remembering her mother despite being only minutes old, and it’s not like the OT didn’t contradict itself either.
Liam Garcia
There are flat earthers, anti vaxxers, creationists, and people who literally think 9/11 didn't happen. Like, the entire evemt just didn't happen. It's not that unrealisitc
Xavier Gonzalez
>implying creationism and anti-vax (which is proven to increase the chances of getting autism) is bad cuck
Ethan Adams
jesus fucking christ when you see a shaolin monk in real life do you believe he's a well trained martial artist or do you assume he has chi powers just because he says so? I'm sure many people saw jedi and many people thought they were just well trained swordfighters, you people act as if the characters in the movies watch the fucking movies themselves and are privy to everything the audience is privy to
>the clone wars >a war fought by clones and droids >”surely this regular human was on the front lines”
Based retarded op. The jedi order was at most a thousand people.
Charles Barnes
Thing is, if jedi existed there would be jediboos obsessively compiling video of their feats & circulating them on the /jedifan/ boards. "check out this sick mind trick!'' would be circulated all over any information networks like world star clips, everyone would know of them
