Zoomers will never experience the joy of having massive VHS/DVD collections
>not inheriting an older relative's movies and vidya through hand me downs
It's how I got my N64 and Dreamcast, I was introduced to Evangelion when my aunt gave me some of my cousin's old stuff.
I'm a zoomer, and I don't have a VHS collection. But I do have a DVD collection.
Zoomers are missing out on a lot of things, they don't even have attention spans anymore
We have a safe haven over here:
Laserdiscs are the best to collect. They store easily and the big package is great for browsing your collection.
>wasting money
Streaming services never have anything good any more and now that each studio realized they can make their own streaming web site you’ll have to pay $200 a month to have a decent selection.
>On 12 hour flight
>Whip out pic related.
I was king of the airplane
>caved-in monkey samefaces galore
hard pass
The massive wall of 95% untouched dvds is the worst thing in most peoples houses.
>wasting money
Rather it be VHS?
Did you plug in somewhere to keep the power going?
>>wasting money
spending money
>spending money
I'd rather be investing that money than buy muh physical or muh streaming services
I sold all mine then threw ouy what i couldn't. It's all garbage
Thanks for this advice. I can now retire next week.
no problem son
I had two rechargeable packs that lasted about 6 hours each
>tfw this is the only DVD set I own
>>zoomers will never experience the joy of having massive VHS/DVD collections
Those experiencing puberty now may never want to collect anything if their parents hoarded VHS
>Manage to collect all the DBZ tapes back in the day
>"Cool, now I have the whole series to watch when I wan-!"
>Funimation starts to release the uncut early episodes of DBZ on DVD with the new VAs
>"Cool, I guess I'll pick these up, since they were so butchered in localization."
>Funimation cancels those, and starts selling the orange bricks.
>"O-ok, I guess I'll get all these for continuity sake."
>Collect all the orange bricks
>"There, NOW I have the whole series on DVD, so I can pick which episodes I want to watch, and what language I can listen t-"
>Funimation starts releasing DBZ Kai on blu ray
>"...well, I guess it would be cool to have all the filler edited out anyw-"
>They also start to release DBZ on blu ray at the exact same time
>"Oh, fuck off"
I ended up torrenting it all, and never looking back.
Literally nobody thought it was a drag to have a nice video collection dummy.
HOARDED?
So is this a post your collection thread?
I like collecting blu Rays
Looks like somebody’s been diving the $1.99 DVD bin at Wal-Mart.
Right side up
>Night of the Living Dead Criterion
I don't know if you've delved into the special features at all, but that '79 Tom Snyder interview with George Romero and Don Coscarelli is pic related.
I like what I like
>Commodity fetishism good
I see Kirby in the snow.
>enjoying thing bad
I collected VHS but I got into it so late that my library never came to even close to the amount of DVDs I own. That said, I do regret selling some of those tapes, especially the Evil Dead ones.
