I've been watching DS9 with my wife for the past five years or so. We're running out of episodes. We've already watched Enterprise. Thinking of watching Next Generation next. Am I going to be disappointed?
DS9 ending soon
TNG is more episodic and the characters are more one-dimensional, but it's max comfy and has many great episodes.
RIP Nog's leg.
Watch DISCO instead
pls call it by its proper shortform, STD
hell, prepare for a bad final season of ds9.
t. Dukautist
he deserved a better story arc, not a retelling of jonestown in space
TNG is the best of Star Trek.
That was a good episode though. Classic Dukat. We've known for years that he has ridgenose fever.
iunno, i would put tng equal to ds9
You're wrong. DS9 is the ESB of Star Trek, it gets the kudos for introducing darker elements without the heavy lifting of establishing the universe.
it greatly expanded the storytelling to include pov's from other races that were not federation
So then what the fuck are we talking about TNG for? All credit goes to TOS (which in turn must credit Forbidden Planet).
Because TNG is better than TOS.
>My favorite Star Trek is the Star Trek that stops being Star Trek
>i shit all over an excellent series just because they don't visit another rubber forehead alien species ever week
DS9 is better television than TNG and overall has better characters, but TNG has some truly great episodes which define the franchise that DS9 just can't even compare to.
Skip Beverly, Troi, and Wesley episodes. Only watch Geordi ones about his sexual frustrations. The rest are okay.
>Skip Beverly, Troi, and Wesley episodes.
Skip Suspicions, Face of the Enemy and The First Duty? No.
Based never watched TOS poster
TOS has about 10 actual sci fi episodes and maybe 5 of them are in the top ten best. The rest are just episodes about whatever movie sets or props they could sneak on to.
>well we have access to a gangster set and costumes...what about a mafia planet? We'll say some book about al Capone fell on their planet and that's What they based their culture on, people will buy that
Huh. Watching DS9 before TNG, novel approach.
As you´ve already stomached Enterprise, TNG should pose no problem.
Some eps in the first 2 seasons are quite awkward, but camp can be good too.
When you´re done with Voyager after the TNG experience, you should definitely move on to Babylon5.
Irish Ghost Episode is worse than season finale of Enterprise.
Every series has bad episodes, so I don't see what your point is.
Sub Rosa at least gives a glimpse to the power and creativity of Federation terraforming and colonization techniques. Want a Scotland planet? We'll make one for you!
TOS doesnt establish shit
and Remember Me
Planet of the X Used Props episodes are max comfy though. At least until they ran out of money for the sets in season 3.
TOS is comfy in a weird way, TNG is a better show overall
>I've been watching DS9 with my wife for the past five years
fucking what?
Have you been rewatching them or watching 2 month?
My last re-watch of TOS took me three years. Mostly because I'd already seen the whole series like five times by that point and I realized I wasn't even paying attention to the TV so I ended up taking a really long fucking break, which ended only because I figured I should finish it before the complete TNG blu-ray box set release.
have there ever been human / ferengi hybrids?
>Shitting on DS9 with RLM pic
>Doesn't realize Mike's favorite Star Trek character is Quark
>The Apple
Kirk should have been court martialed for violating the Prime Directive here, and again in Return of the Archons. In both cases he destroyed the cornerstone of a pre warp culture because he simply disagreed with it.
prime directive was a bit more lose in kirks time, if it all worked out it all works out
I believe his justification was that prime directive only applies to developing cultures, and in both instances the society in question had become completely stagnant.
Yes, and it's a bullshit argument. Vaal in particular nearly rekt the Enterprise; for all we know that culture could have surpassed the Feds and stagnated by its own free choice. How long do you think those guys would last without fighting one another without Vaal to keep everything in line?
but this was the 60's and kirk is bringing the american way to the space commies
DS9 sucks.
But we didn't see that, so that's a bullshit argument too.
Hah. std sucks
Yes you are a fag
