Just saw the movie and holy shit the character dialogue was beyond cringe. One guy says "Wow, I don't care if Godzilla was a republican, he would have my vote in 2020." The worry I do have is that I'm sensing a negative vibe from the broader media, like reviewers and their ilk have already made up their minds to dislike this movie and are waiting for opening weekend to pounce on it and give it bad reviews. If they generate enough negative buzz they could take it down to borderline flop territory at the box office.

with Godzilla ‘14 I’ll agree it wasn’t great mainly due to the lack of Cranston, following a literal Who throughout the film, and the lack of monsters... but it should be noted that monster fight between Godzilla and The Mutos was baller.
