The Terror

Just started The Terror
Little mention of it here outside of passing mentions in Chernobyl threads. Anybody else see this and enjoy it?

It was nice to watch a series with no romantic subplots in it.

What about the gays?

Its my favorite TV show. Ive rewatched it three or four times, always showing it to new people.

In 1 year people like you are going to post how game of Thrones went over Yea Forumss head because it was never mentioned.

Maybe the Terror was the friends we made along the way

Attached: 1523472091593.jpg (1594x900, 227K)

>year 2024
>hey guys have you watching this old show Game of Thrones, it's kind alright, I really like Ned

Why did it have to be a manbear thing instead of just a regular polar bear? They're already scary enough without the supernatural bullshit

you missed the boat bud

they were tripping on lead

It was universally regarded as kino but over the last year Yea Forums has soured on it for some reason

Because it’s based off of a book

wasnt romance, it was wholesome and borderline betero

God forbid you fucks pick up on a blatantly false statement of irony

>have you watching
>its kind alright

go away shitskin

>Little mention of it here outside of passing mentions in Chernobyl threads.

newfag filter unlocked!

i hate when they do that in tv. i stopped watching right there.

>season 2 takes place in a ww2 jap internment camp
>shaping up to be more wypipo r evil
>starring george takei
Is this going to be a bigger s1 to s2 decline in quality than True Detective?

In a year, there will be that one faggot that claims Chernobyl is never talked about on Yea Forums. You know what I miss? Spartacus threads.

*kssssssTKL*
*sip*
Ahhhh... Lost threads... now THAT was peak Yea Forums

Lost is the de facto example of course but Spartacus is one of the last few boomerkinos

Attached: 1554758536635.jpg (957x957, 434K)

Yeah this is worrying me. When I first heard they were making a season 2 I was somehow under the impression it was going to be taking place in Japan and was going to be based on rural mythology. I really don't care about Japs in internment camps and I feel like they will spend more time trying to get the viewers to empathize with the victims rather than actually making an interesting story.

I really want to find the music from the pic related scene where Irving meets the Inuit people, right before Hickey murders him. I've listened through the soundtrack on youtube but I can't find it. It made the scene very beautiful to me.

Attached: the terror.jpg (1280x720, 192K)

I watched it all last night. It was decent. It has a lot of great, tense moments but I felt that there were also too many retarded scenes that brought me out of it. It's a great example of why I usually avoid tv-shows, they keep fucking it up whenever it's close to being great. Overall it was kind of worth it though, I just wish they would have made some better decisions. It's only 10 episodes and the show is better than most of the trash people watch, so I don't regret watching it.

Imagine being this salty

it's literally master and commander tier comfy until manbearpig arrives

Attached: 1552816428029.png (328x301, 113K)

Because the manbearpig represents their fight against the elements as well as their paranoia about the natives and general lead madness.

I thought manbearpig was something the tv producers added as a "we want the Game of Thrones audience" afterthought, but to my surprise it was in the book as well. Honestly a little spooky Eskimo spirit hoodoo stuff occurring on the periphery of the story could have been cool and atmospheric, but manbearpid was way too much and too in-you-face.

Yeah, the book is shit. Honestly if they didn't show the bear, it would have been scarier. Best case scenario would have been that the elements alone kill them, as they likely did, but if the writers wanted to stick with the book then they should have just not shown the bear and only shown how it attacked and the damage it did.

this. it was great until it attacked the ship. it ruined the show sadly.

Why did it matter whether or not they were brothers? This scene was boring.

>Little mention of it here
newfaggot spotted, back to Yea Forums cunt

great book.

the ships were also found recently (2014), if you're interested. the bell of the erebus is on display in a museum down the street from me in Toronto.

Attached: 1523482620739.jpg (433x458, 38K)

So was that thing real or an hallucination? When it brought that seal to the Eskie woman, you could hear its breathing and it left fresh meat.

Why the fuck did they decide that of all settings? It's fucking retarded. They could have chosen The Mary Celeste and all the weird shit that happened with that ship, or any of the dozens of Bermuda Triangle incidents, but instead they choose something that was literally not even that big of a deal.

The reddit tourists on here went nuts for this pile of garbage. Thankfully once summer started all those normal fags left and tweenaged capeshitters arrived to bury the show under thanos threads.

They should do it based on the Nips invading and massacreing the mainland Asians. That would be interesting. The Nips saw them as ants.

AMC is netflix tier cucked. What the fuck do you think is going to happen?

Really? Because they made The Terror with all white people.

The initial pitch they made for the first season of The Terror was allegedly couched heavily in language that made it seem to the network suits like it was going to be a critique of white men doing bad things during the Age of Sail. What they actually made once they got the green light was a straightforward story of men struggling to survive in a dire situation and how this brought out both the best and the worst in them. This second season being what it is seems almost like a mea culpa to beg forgiveness from angry leftists who are mad that they got real kino when they were expecting preachy bullshit.

>trapped in the ice during an endless night
>slowly succumbing to lead poisoning and starvation
>crew members start disappearing unexplainably
>strange noises carry across the open ice
>people start seeing disturbing figures dancing on the horizon under the northern lights
>crew members start snapping, claiming to see monsters and demons
>bodies start appearing around the ship, some eaten, some obviously murdered
>odd totems are found far off but within site of the ship
>footsteps that seem to disappear into nothingness
>paranoia engulfs the starving crew
>infighting and murder overcomes the crew
>desperate groups of survivors split up and flee in whatever direction they think is safest
>noise seems to grow louder
>monsters seem to be following them
>show ends with the final survivor screaming at something we can't see
>nothing is explained, it's all left for the viewer to interpret
>were the monsters real or was it just starvation and madness?

The Terror was pure kino, one of the best horror shows ever made. Imagine if they did something stupid like have a single for real manbearpig monster and nobody acted or looked like they were starving and every episode was a boring slog with something contrived and spoopy happening only within the last 10 minutes and half the show was spent watching perfectly healthy looking and acting crew members dragging boats through a boring brightly lit tundra until the writers panic and recognize the show is turning into serious shit and add an eleventh hour cannibal villain who dies 30 minutes after going crazy and the manbearpig monster dies easily to less damage it took earlier in the show. Sure glad The Terror wasn't something stupid like that.

Listening to it now, it just sounds like standard ambient. If you'd like ambient music you could start a thread on Yea Forums and pray you don't get tards.
If you mean the spooky music playing during the part with Hickey stabs Irving it's actually just the music from the carnival but slowed down and reversed. Pretty good idea on their part

>chad that was apart of the initial threads for The Terror here
Is Chernobyl good enough to warrant watching and participating in the threads for, or is it overhyped.

The show is pretty good. The threads are just the icing on the cake

Chernobyl is incredible, watch the first episode, you won't be disappointed

Attached: 1557379811204.jpg (687x849, 124K)

You're retarded

>the best actor in the show dies 3 episodes in

thank god we still had tobias menzies

kill yourself newfag

Kill yourself faggot scum

>Spartacus is one of the last few boomerkinos
Literally faggot shit for 90s born queers

Really enjoyed it. Shame it turned really basic in the last episodes.

Attached: 1542649681992.png (800x8500, 736K)

I haven't seen Chernobyl yet I'm waiting for the finale so I can binge it
Love the terror though

It was a metaphor of the unknown and horrors of humanity when we go wild
Hence the scene at the end with all the weird body piercing and all the parinoia leading up to it

The terror literally was the men the entire time
It's basically bizzaro apocalypse now set in snow

Yes but the relationship between Fitzjames and Crozier kept it interesting.

There were far too many threads jerking off over this shitty show

Reddit and normies caught up to it so we must hate it now

>normies
you're one of them faggot
