I think they captured the witches perfectly. They weren't some overpowered creatures that could fuck everyone up with two words. They were more like what people in the middle ages imagined witches to be, real women who had made a deal with Satan. They had a few metaphysical powers but they still had to rely on their charm as women.
Dorian's trap bf was not supposed to look like a woman, that much was evident.
