it had some genuinely creepy and scary scenes, but the climax was completely fucking ruined by stock sound effects. idk how they thought they could get away with that. the movie relies heavily on mounting dread and pathos for its entire runtime and then the final scene it plays a fucking generic monster movie roar for the big reveal.
