Could HBO turn AoT into the next GoT

Off the top of my head I can't think of any other material that if adapted could become as much of a phenomenon as Game of Thrones had. It has all the same hooks - fantastical medieval setting, political/social intrigue, themes pertaining to duty/brotherhood/military/survival/nature of man, even cooler heroes/fighting styles, tons of fucked up imagery that stays with people. Most importantly they could pull off the main thing that made GoT so much more popular than everything else around - routinely build up and then kill off seemingly important characters in ways people are not prepared for. They could have episodes rivaling the engrossing power of Ned's execution or Red Wedding. There's also plenty of strong female characters that are apparently mandatory now but they actually feel like a natural part of the story instead of the Arya/Sansa bullshit. There's also room for more political intrigue in an adaptation than was in the manga/anime that wouldn't be out of place and could add to the story.

no one cares about your chinese cartoons, weeb

This

no one cared about a song of ice and faggots either and yet here we are

>boo hoo im crying and screaming because im an insectoid who is trying to write down actual human emotions

Did you forget the part where the entire story is about how the nazis were the good guys? you seriously think HBO would want to be related to that in any way whatsoever?

They wanted to make Confederate, they're standing behind season 8 which was a bigger kick to the nuts to normies. It wouldn't even get to that point until like 5-6 seasons in and they'd just figure out how to spin it by that time.

shingeki no kyojin only got good after they opened the basement
if it were to get a live action adaptation they'd homogenize it into zombie survival show #49
uh both the marleyans and eldians are simultaneously nazis and jews
both parties are in the wrong
it's the perfect subversion of ww2 themes and anyone who thinks the mangaka is picking a side is a retard

unironically, i think we might see an american studio try to pick this up.

AOT is the biggest fumble in recent shonen anime history. It just gets worse and worse every month.

Legendary is already doing a movie.
>Making a TV series of something that requires CGI
Why do weebs have a pea brain?

Everything the anime covered so far could easily follow game of thrones beats. Once they open the basement it'd transition into a different show, which would allow it to stay fresh longer

lol have you seen the live action movie?

Its looks great animated but its a nightmare for live action.

>Making a tv series of something that's already on tv
Look at this fag holy shit.

Like The Terror, Westworld, GOT? They could easily pull it off since they'd be saving fuckloads of money on costumes/locations. Do a few super knockout titan battles where it counts and the rest with practical effects/good camerawork

>anyone who thinks the mangaka is picking a side is a retard
>he doesn't know

i mean in the context of the story itself

For shitty jap live action trying to cash in on the hype asap of course it is.

If dragon CGI was expensive and time consuming, titan CGI will be doubly so.
SnK works fine as a manga and an anime

>thinking costumes and locations are the same shit as TV CGI.
GOT could pull it off because you rarely saw Drogon, dumbfuck.

Boyega as armin

They were able to crank out dozens of monster of the week shows with giant enemies every episode as early as 40-50 years ago.

Not saying AoT could just do what Ultraman/Power Rangers did but it is soon to be 2020 and they'd have a much bigger budget

Terror was literally shot against a green screen. It's much less expensive now and most of the Titan CGI could be people with warped faces/ cloned out genitals.

You probably thought those giant AT-AT walkers in empire strikes back cost millions of CGIbux to film lmao.

Kek, only good reply on the whole thread, also sage

Idris Elba as Erwin would unironically watch

Sounds like you got all the answers. Write a treatment and submit it to HBO. I'm sure you'll be able to attain the rights once the deal is sealed.

isn't that basically what DnD did

They had to convince GRRM that they would do a faithful adaptation of the books without fucking with them too much

berserk could work as a Next Got adaptation
