pure speculate kino. several of the earlier ones are also great, the fact that they had to fight multiple times on a night is stupidly insane though.
UFC kino
i hate ufc but this looks interesting
the man, the myth the legend
>bare knuckles
its really neat how the different styles hadnt merged and everyone wear their styles garb.
camera works poor though
Old UFC was pure unadulterated kino
youtube.com
this was the definition of day 1 real MMA. it was various martial arts against each other, very few fighters had a mix of two or more styles. Almost no rules other than eye gouging, groin shots and a few other minor ones.
...
shut up before I put you in a guillotine bitch
>alternative
you know thats a containment board for WWE right? aka fake "sports", this shit is real. UFC is on Yea Forums
Wow, Even back in UFC 1 it was gay homo shit.
Chuck Norris's World Combat League was way better. None of this homo wrapping around each other and rolling around like faggots like UFC
This is some wild shit. That flimsy cage. Ripping out hair.
just because jannies condone it doesn't mean you belong on Yea Forums homoboy
its broadcast history senpai, tv history.
>this shit is real
lol everyone knows old UFC was made so the Gracies could shill BJJ
the gracies help start UFC because they knew that he would win because BJJ is a top tier 1v1 technique, they were real fights though. its not like BJJ turned out to be completely useless in the coming years.
how time flies and hair goes
>first solid hit knocks out a tooth
kek, awesome
>no slams or strikes
>top tier 1v1
lol no
gay and lame
slams lol like you need slams when you choke someone out or break their arm. top level BJJ also develops ways to avoid strikes (plus you get combat jujisu too which includes strikes) by far BJJ was the most effective technique in the UFC for a long time and as it actually developed into MMA, basic level of BJJ is needed fr everyone to avoid just getting dunked on by a purple belt.
there is no perfect style but BJJ has shown consistently that its far more suited than many of styles, with other grappling styles coming close.
Watched it and and the ju-jutsu guy ruined it for me though I did enjoy watching the nord dude with the broken hand making it to the finals.
sumo&boxer a shit
fuck off nerd
I remember when this first came out. The next week my brother and his friends started trying to create cage fights in our back yard. I ended up fight one of the neighborhood kids and was pinned down unable to get up so i grabbed a stick that was laying in the grass and smashed him in the face with it breaking his nose. Later that night we had pizza and played nintendo till 3am talking about forming a gang called "the scorpions" the early 90s was a fun time...
>he thinks MM"A" isn't a work
pretty sure it was only no eye gouging and biting. Groin strikes were allowed
So UFC was all about hugging on the floor from day one. Good to know.
nice counter argument. Basically you have no idea about the topic but decided to shit our your garbage opinion
Royce was a bit of a shit with the last guy. It's not his fault the ref sucks; you don't keep choking a guy for however more seconds after he taps out.
Interesting to see but less smashing than I was expecting.
Royce has always been a shit
The senpai didnt want Rickson to represent them because they couldn't control his ass. Gracie lore is pretty neat Royce himself said rickson beats him 10/10 times
Shoulda named them The Lords
The HGH really did a number on his noggin
>watching a sumo get kicked in the face
Early MMA was wild. Do you have the gif of a guy in a cross just getting elbowed in a face?
Old UFC was great.
>Pat Smith straight up destroying that "ninja"
>Royce/Shamrock rematch where they pissed off the fans because they did nothing but size up each other the entire fight
>Marco Ruas causing that one big dudes leg to turn black and blue from all the kicks
>Kimo rushing to the cage and celebrating after Royce's team throws in the towel before that fight
seething twat
Early Pride>Early UFC
And yes, I realize the first 3-4 events were blatantly fixed.
Pride never dies
Name 1 pride fighter still relevant today.
So were headbutts. Until some guy got the other on the ground and just destroyed his nose with his forehead.
woah
name 1 early ufc fighter still relevant today
Brendan Schaub.
That's savage af my dude
Thanks, that's sick. Even more brutal than I remember.
>1993
>80s
I think you should stop sparring user
You can tell his hairline was already receding, he's got a few strands of wispy hair combed forward to hide it, but the signs are apparent.
More like mid 90s fucking zoomed
rekt
The 80's ran until about '94. Same as how the 90's ran until 2001. The 00's ended in '08.
I'd rather be a badass, gay homo than a weak, ass getting wrecked "man."
Are there any organizations right now that are like what the UFC was back in the day? With minimal rules I mean. Obviously the superior skillsets would weed out the memey shit like kenpo and sumo.
On a bigger scale, the twentieth century is in its final year. 2020 is when the 21st century starts for real. Likewise the 19th century ran till 1914.
UFC was amazing before Zuffa bought it and made it into a family friendly sport.
I'm pretty sure there was initially only the no eye gouge rule. They added a few in reaction to things that happened in the ring.
Tank Abbott tried (and failed) to throw a guy out of the ring. The next event had a no throwing guys out of the ring rule.
I distinctly remember a fight with a series of groin punches. There were also some brutal elbows to the head which Zuffa banned among a lot of other fun things.
Gary Goodridge turning a guy into a ragdoll with a dozen rapid elbows to the side of his head was one of the most memorable things to me.
Yep. Those were the days.
>Naruto getting BLACKED
If UFC was still like this it would be 100% more popular.
Pretty much any of the smaller Asian orgs. There's one that has literally zero PED testing. Every contestant weighs at least 220lbs of raw muscle. Every fight is over in about 10 seconds, with the loser being rushed to hospital.
It's incredible.
>groin punches
youtube.com
And how! The groin puncher ended up in prison for rape iirc
there's a type of Brazilian combat sport called vale tudo (literally means anything goes) but as far as I know it has been pushed underground, and currently there aren't any sanctioned orgs or tournaments.
Zoomers don't know what they missed out on. Early UFC was savage. It had some boring parts because the lack of rules enabled passive fighting styles, but I find post-Zuffa UFC way more boring.
>Gary Goodridge vs Paul Herrera - YouTube

RIGHT IN THE INFINITY STONES!
>UFC 1 co-created by Rorion Gracie and Art Davie, used an eight-man tournament format, with the winner receiving $50,000. The tournament featured fights with no weight classes, time-outs, or judges. The two rules, no biting or eye gouging, were to be enforced only by a $1,500 fine.
>mfw every time an old UFC thread pops up
sweet kino. back when it was real ultimate fighting. ninja vs kickboxing, shoto khan karate vs savat. sumo vs boxing. no weight class no fucking sissies.
>Balls being flattened into pancakes
>still don't tap
That guy has balls of steel
In October 2008, Son was charged by California authorities in relation to his participation in a 1990 gang rape. He was initially charged in Orange County, California, with five counts of rape, two felony counts of forcible sodomy, two felony counts of sodomy in concert by force, seven felony counts of forcible oral copulation, and one felony count of sexual penetration by foreign object by force. He faced a maximum sentence of 275 years to life if convicted.
Son and an accomplice tortured and repeatedly raped the victim before releasing her with her pants tied around her eyes. During the trial, the woman said that Son told her, "It's Christmas. This is your lucky day." Before jury selection began for his trial in early August 2011, the initial charges against Son were dropped having expired due to the statute of limitations. Son was then charged with conspiracy to commit torture and murder, crimes which have no statute of limitations. In late August, Son was found guilty of one felony count of torture.
During the trial, the Orange County District Attorney's Office maintained that both Son and his co-defendant, Santiago Lopez Gaitan, pistol-whipped their female victim, repeatedly threatened to kill her, and raped her before finally releasing her. Gaitan, 40, pleaded guilty to one felony count each of kidnapping, sodomy by force in concert, rape in concert, forcible oral copulation, and forcible rape with a sentencing enhancement for committing rape while armed with a firearm. He was sentenced January 28, 2011, to 17 years and four months in state prison. On September 19, 2011, Son was sentenced to 7 years to life.
In October 2011, Son was accused of killing his cellmate, Michael Thomas Graham, a convicted sex offender. The murder happened on October 10, 2011, on "B" Yard Reception, building 5 at Wasco State Prison. The beating occurred at 5:25 p.m. and Graham died 25 minutes later.[15] After the murder occurred, Son was moved to solitary confinement.
idk why my gif isn't working, but that's Van Damme hugging Fedor and then giving him a loving look while gently stroking his face as Fedor backs away.
I've love to see an absolute division in UFC. Simply a no weight class division to see who really is just the ultimate fighter.
Groin puncher looks like the Cobra Kai sensei
Ken Shamrock, Bas Rutten, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell
CANT UNSEE
>There's one that has literally zero PED testing. Every contestant weighs at least 220lbs of raw muscle. Every fight is over in about 10 seconds, with the loser being rushed to hospital.
Well what is it called?
true. i didn't know this till way later. fucking smart douchebags. now we have mixed martial arts. nothing is pure anymore.
also hated the 'braaaaaaaaaahzilllllian jewwwwwjitsuuuu is da greaaaatest massssha ahhhhhhts evaaaaa' speech.
fuck them.
so true.
That gracie fight against the boxer was fucking embarrassing. You can generate a lot of top pressure, but dude just tapped after 30 seconds of no attacks because he was annoyed? What a shitty athlete.
>In October 2011, Son was accused of killing his cellmate, Michael Thomas Graham, a convicted sex offender. The murder happened on October 10, 2011, on "B" Yard Reception, building 5 at Wasco State Prison. Balances out
Probably taught not worth it
One isn't that brutal, it is nice tho.
this isnt old stuff, gtfo with this garbage
It pains me how much youngins mistake the 90's with the 80's,
dubs of truth! i would pay to see that. fuck all this new shit. i want purity brought back to fighting.
This was way cooler than today's.
Why did they change so much?
christ the juice those guys are on
To make it a sport so they could profit, rather than being some underground illegal fight club
UFC was literally being legally banned state by state.
They had to institute some rules otherwise they'd be banned everywhere and MMA wouldn't exist.
because you want to legitimize the fighting and also not kill your fighters
Makes sense. But they could at least keep the different style clothing.
John McBrain was assblasted that Fred Ettish and Karate got btfod
The answer is Jon Jones
There's a great MMA doc on SBNation but it says bad things about the orange man in one episode so you guys would hate it
>too afraid to fight DC at heavyweight
eeeehhhh
He knew it was over if he got mounted. He had no grappling experience.
This, cutbabby has to cheat 1v1 competition.
UFC is friends with Trump. They literally made a positive documentary about Trump's involvement in early/mid era MMA, and Dana publicly supports Trump.
UFC is the only major company I can think of that actively let their fighters praise Trump on their platforms.
Making him cry like a baby once was enough
>UFC back then
Every single style, anything goes
>UFC now
Boxing and Judo
>Judo
you mean ncaa wrestling and bjj
UFC now:
wrestling, bjj, muay thai, boxing
I'm honestly just surprised at how quickly he gave up. He could have at least acted like a spazzy white belt. I've been surprised by inexperienced guys who just start bridging constantly when mounted, wastes 1 billion energy and you probably won't get out doing it randomly, but a pro boxer would have the conditioning to do it.
Kind of unfair judgement with hindsight though, since everybody goes into jiu jitsu now knowing at least a little bit about it because it's become so popular.
i really thought people would just be turbo kicking each other in the nuts for every single fight
you forgot judo, samba and karate
>"There's a lotta strategy, now"
>Starts throwing haymakers

Did I miss Pride never dies? UFC a shit
new meta is capoeira
Pride production was off the charts. Also Pride Lady >>> Bruce Buffer
So this is the official upload by the company cause I've seen this before.
Why is this old ass video more interesting than todays UFC?
Reminder Trump saved UFC and Mr. White literally takes Trump's cock up his ass.
I feel bad for Kevin Rozier, he fought a brutal first round while the savate guy barely had a match
Imagine the smell
yummy
I think it was early days of Pride Fighting not UFC, but there was one guy just literally throwing some poor dude on the ground and stomping his face in so hard the rest of his body snapped up like a seesaw.
damn at 18:00 Dan Akroyd was kicking some ass
I think that actually happened once
>so irrelevant that you allow your athletes to take roids so people would watch your shitshow
holy fuck
You mean the only martial arts that fucking work?
The savate guy fucked himself up doing that.
>ictorious, Gordeau advanced round, although the bout left him injured, as the kick had knocked out three of Tuli's teeth and two of them had been stuck in Gordeau's foot. The announcers claimed that the third tooth landed underneath their table, although reports claim it landed on the crowd.[3][6] Doctors attended him but, not wanting Gordeau to have an open wound, and having determined that it would get infected if they tried to extract the teeth out, they simply taped his foot.[4] Gordeau's punch had broke his hand as well, and he came to the next fight with a noticeably swollen fist.
This was actually one of the objectives of the UFC, ending the mystic aura that exists around some fighting styles. Even nowadays we still see some bullshido going on
>Even nowadays we still see some bullshido going on
Look up Xu Xiaodong. He's literally one dude trying to expose how useless traditional chinese martial arts is in a real fight. He's been fighting kung fu grandmasters and beating their asses dispite being a below average mma fighter
How come Jason Statham never competed in UFC?
Was Fedor a hack?
No he was the GOAT along with Schaub
that's pretty metal
fuck Valbong, Luke and all you cucks on the Pisscord
I feel bad for the wagecuck who had to clean it up.
>hack
>no one dares challenge him during his prime
>1 and a half hour
god dam why cant broadcasts today be like this?
Yea Forums bros I'm sick of professional wrestling and I wanna take the MMA pill, give me all the relevant information I need to know about different promotions and any hot fighters you recommend someone check out
>Toby Kebball playing this nigga in a movie about early mma

HELP BARB, I JUST WANTED A CHEESEBURGER
Fucking got immediately crucified then presumably killed?
That one is probably more to do with brand deals and preference of today's fighters
i cant believe that the commentator i remember having the screechiest sharp unlistenable harsh comically high voice is the muh monkeys podcast man
Why is current UFC so fucking lame and gay?
>killed
fuck man go outside
based hue
I watched it live. Well, live in a strip club on a big screen.
It's not 80's it's 90's.
Did you know it was going to be on? If so, what were you expecting? What was the atmosphere like in the place during and after?
For me, it's Pride FC.
>Pride FC
It's literal human cockfighting see guys like you don't understand that boxing is an art you can't appreciate a guy like Pernell Whittaker.
man i still remebered when royce graci went back to the octagon and fought against matt hughes. and hughes had graci locked in an arm bar and graci refused to tap/surrender and we can even hear his arm pop and the referee had to stop the fight because his arm is dislocated. such a legend because of his pride as a jiu jitsu practitioner he refused to be defeated by surrendering to his own volition
Why don't they ever just do this
bait for non cazzies
>nigger immediately cheats and groin kicks when losing
surprises absolutely nobody
huh? what does that even mean?? i only started watching UFC when matt hughes was still in his prime. and even until this day hes still my favorite MMA fighter even tho GSP already outclassed him in their division
>graci
>gracie didn't tap to the straight armbar
>tko'd with punches from back mount
early mma was, is and forever will be kino
But they do

Watch the numbered PPV's as they come up, that's where the best fighters and the title fights are. The next one is UFC 238 on June 8th. There's also an afternoon card this upcoming saturday with a pretty fun main event.
>mid-80s UFC groin kick
>cheating
Absolutely fluid
I preferred Pride Fighting Championship.
literally the only rules were no groin no eye gouge no biting
Man the announcers are shilling the gracies even on ufc 1. I thought he “shocked” everyone in the first ufc, at least that’s how I remember it. But it seems like they thought he was the favorite.
>legitimately great fighter that stomps everyone
>shilling
He should have let him go flying towards a turnbuckle headfirst
Do they really need to put that gay song?
Did he poop
?
Yes and afterwards he started using the nickname "Brown Bomber"
>it's a Lawrence Kenshin fight breakdown video
We just knew it was going to be a type of boxing/wresting with no rules. The term MMA didn't even exist yet. Everybody really enjoyed it. I was a kid so I just went there with people from work and got drunk and had a blast. I think we watched like the next 15 or so after that. They were further apart then too like 9 months apart.
wouldn't you just repeatedly strike the throat or attempt an air choke one you're both grounded? not that i want to permanently hurt someone but for the sake of discussion the only barred strikes are groin shots and eye gouges, right?
Somebody needs to webm Dan Severn vs Anthony Macias so people can witness a guy called The Beast suplex some twink into oblivion.
Wish Dan got into the cage game when he was younger, dude would be a monster the likes we haven't seen
Matt Hughes is a total dipshit.
>The term MMA didn't even exist yet.
It was "No Holds Barred" right?
>80's
>November 12, 1993
Just looked up his fight vs wing chun
>mfw wing chun dude is wearing Jordan's or some shit
wtf

Nice Hitler salutes at 7:45 from the Dutch fighter. I've reported the video.
Shirtless guy comes running in like a retard, no idea what the fuck he is doing
got you senpai
groin shots were allowed lad
>spam R1
>win
Noob
It's Vale Tudo, not MMA. MMA is it's own thing, like muay thai is different from kickboxing.
Fun facts:
>The UFCs were created to showcase BJJ because the Jew who planned it all was a BJJ fanboy
>That's why they didn't invite high profile fighters (Except Shamrock who had no problems with fixed matches as a pro wrestler), only bar room brawlers
>They tried to get Hulk Hogan but retracted their invitation when it turned out he had learned legit catch wrestling in Japan
>They tried to get Benny Urquidez but retracted their invitattion when it turned out he was already MMA before MMA was a thing ("Sure, just let me brush up on my grappling.")
Imagine Hulk Hogan won the first UFC and catch wrestling had become the new hyped style.
It's the Savate salute. The fighter is Jewish.
You guys should check out K1 matches, it was a tournament where all fighting styles were allowed but no grappling or anything. You had muay thai kickboxers fighting sumo wrestlers, shit was hilarious.
youtube.com
r/mma is >>>> that way ya leftist cucks
announcers were based as fuck for back in the day and knowing 10% of that shit.
Chick was jerking off a pen the whole time
Jim Brown was worthless but had an absolutely perfect line to sum MMA and Gracie's win, (basically), "we learned fighting isn't what we thought it was"
holy fuck does this make me diamonds
omg makes it so much hotter

it was just gimped for competitive jiu jitsu
>DEX vs STR
yep, wallid ismail choking him with a clock choke in 15 seconds was one of the ebst thing to ever happen in jew jitsu
thanks, meant to watch this a while ago and forgot
also it's a lot of fucking pressure on your chest that you don't know how to handle if you are not used to it
Beginning reminds me of TLJ kissing scene with black guy and chinese girl
the thing is when you watch the ref in UFC and other early UFC's, they are super scared and hesitant to call anything. multiple times the fighter taps and the re does nothing or lightly taps the other guy asking him to stop. Then you have the moments where one taps, the other stops and the ref doesn't stop the fight so they carry on even though one guy has submitted.
what should happen is one guy taps, the ref immediately demands the other guy gets off by verbal and physical contact and then the ref calls a stoppage and declares the other guy a winner, neither of which happened a lot in early UFC, nowadays they wrestle with the fighters to stop them.
You cant blame royce for not stopping, not only is it not his call to stop the fight, but a few times he would stop after a tap and the other person would start fighting back after royce let up a bit.
Cannot stand the fucking narration on this the guy has the worst voice
Couldn't they have paid a professional to do it
Be nice to my friend Felix.
He should get some fucking speech therapy
