Sopranos was very consistent throughout, but like with Mad Men, the later seasons had a more foreboding mood, surrealness and spirituality that I liked.

Six Feet Under and You're the Worst had kino final seasons but sagged a bit in the middle.
The Americans improves leaps and bounds after season 1 and keeps getting better, with the exception of a penultimate season where lots of episodes are great individually but nothing happens on the whole
