Not Koreeda?
Really?

Dolan is garbage.

>Alfonso Cuaron
he only made one good movie

they forgot me

He is on the long list.

I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we all know who the true best director of the 21st Century is.

Christopher Nolan.

4 U?

I don't see a single good director even listed. It's just a bunch of foreign invaders who pump out crap that gets praised because of political correctness and other hard left agenda pushers.

No real people watch this shit. Real people watch movies made by right wing directors. Of course none of those are represented on this list.

Ah yes my fellow 300 IQ incel

how old are you and where are you from?

Strong and powerful black qween

27, UK.

Cringe

I know it's bait so this but unironically.

>Ava Duvernay
>Richard "12 years to make!" Linklater
>random European homos
>no Nolan
That list is pure cancer. Not even memeing

>Claire Denis not on it
yeah it's shit

>no Nolan
yeah that's the only good thing about the list

>I don't see a single good director even listed
I disagree. There are 2: PTA and Bong. But yea, the list is shit.

>he thinks Selma is better than The Prestige
Cringed hard

She isn't even supposed to be in the list, they didn't include A Wrinkle in Time in the counting lmao

Actual top 10 best directors of this century coming through.
1. Bela Tarr
2. Theodoros Angelopoulos
3. Edward Yang
4. Tsai Ming Liang
5. Abbas Kiarostami
6. Hou Hsiao-Hsien
7. Wong Kar Wai
8. Terrence Malick
9. Nuri Bilge Ceylan
10. Claire Denis

Watch more films. I like both of them but they are not the only good directors listed.

PTA is another silly lefty. Fuck him.
>race mixing
>female characters
>capitalism is bad
>religion is bad
>degeneracy
>cuckolded males.

Add Hong Sang-soo and that's the most basic and unoriginal list I've ever seen

>I don't know what directing is the post

No. Post yours, if this is basic. But i have forgotten Peter Greenaway he would be in top 5.

where is he

Abbas is the best tbqh

Should also add in Lee Chang Dong, Koreeada, Pedro Costa and maybe Lynch

Except he writes his movies too.

Garbage man is in the TRASH

>Should also add in Lee Chang Dong, Koreeda, Pedro Costa and maybe Lynch
Those would be in my top 20. Except for Costa, i haven't seen anything by him. Where should i start?

What is directing actually? I mean what is there to do? There's a script and everyone just follows the script.

>this is the reading comprehension of average Yea Forums poster

Why is Tarr so high but Kar-wai so low? Both have a single excellent film this century and a few other less great films.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF A LIST LIKE THIS?

>all these absolute meme directors
sigh...

fucking pleb

For me its them:
1. Koreeda
2. Nolan
3. Scorsese
4. Anderson
5. Tarantino
6. Balabanov
7. Ki-duk Kim
8. Noe
9. Eastwood
10. Aronofsky

t. first heard of the Palme d’Or last year

Either Casa De Lava or Ossos

>no women

Well the ranking is quite loose. You could swap Tarr and Angelopoulos for example. I would still put Tarr higher because i love Werckmeister Harmonies and The Turin Horse. They are better than anything Wong Kar Wai has done, in my opinion. Although 2046 is fantastic.

>The Prestige
dumbest plot twist ever

Yorgos Lanthimos
Paul Thomas Anderson
Gaspar Noé
Martin Scorsese
Wes Anderson

Coen Brothers, Villenueve, Nolan, Chazelle and Inarritu are worth mentioning imo.

Thanks.

Both Werkmeister Harmoniak and The Turin Horse are 10/10.

Jonathan Glazer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> your favorite director

>makes one good film
that doesn't make him the best

>liking genre trash

No

But it was so good it made him the top gun

nice of you to out yourself as a tasteless pleb

I know this is a meme but Nolan literally has never directed a movie that was under 7/10

nor one over 7/10

TDK, TDKR, Interstellar and Inception are all below 7.

Because the article is from 2017 you dipshits

What the fuck has she even done? Keep seeing this bitch get promoted on TCM

Attached: 1557694904764.png (645x773, 11K)

TDKR is unironically a 2 at best. Shit was horrifically bad.

I’d agree that Tarr is better overall but I was just confused at the gap when you try to look at it objectively I suppose. If i had to rank the major films: Werckmeister > In the mood for love >> Turin Horse > 2046

Calling Turin Horse a 10/10 is an insult to Werckmeister.

I agree with this unironically, fuck you Yea Forums

Mann, Malick, CW Park, Gibson and Snyder are the top 5.

Like i said it's quite loose, i actually forgot Peter Greenaway he would be somewhere in my top 10. I would rank them: Werckmeister Harmonies > Turin Horse > In the Mood for Love = 2046

>Nolan
Stop this.
>Inarritu
Hack.
