that is what almost all these rewrites do, they want to make the events more sympathetic to Dany.
If Cersei sets her up using wildfire then they can just claim injustice, if she goes off the rails due to the dragon dying in battle then they can blame that as heat of the moment mistake. If she just goes after the red keep then that's probably redeemable for her as acceptable collateral.
Ultimately people could then shift the blame on Jon for killing her as not being able to understand or be sympathetic for her mistakes.

I've seen it repeated a billion times by now that even people who saw Daenerys as THE MAIN VILLAIN since book 1 hated this ending and thought it was horribly done. It was not a well written or consistent villain arc. There are a thousand ideas of how it could have worked really well. They didn't use any of those ideas. Again for people who saw Dany as a pure monster worse than Cersei, Joffrey, or Ramsay Sue from the very beginning even. The writing is just bad. It could have been a lot of fun and if you just enjoy it Evil Dany is fun, black leather dragon women couldn't not be fun, but they botched what could have been.
Since most people had a problem with the execution and not the plot points, it could be very well executed by GRRM and everyone will love it. One thing though, spoiler alert, GRRM is a pretty shitty writer a lot. I would not be surprised if the books aren't good either.
