One of the many things: in T1 and T2 terminators had that ceiling of their powers, yes, even T1000 wasn't that much of the powercreep (if compared to new terminators in new films), he had limits. Haven't really read the background books or anything like that but in the first movie I think the terminator in the flash-back only did that because the dogs outed it by barking at "him"

Mind you, the T-800 chassis is so fucking huge it requires a flesh-sleeve of Arnie's scale to cover it, so yeah, probably not that great at deep infiltration/not just getting immediately lit up when they see the size of it's shoulders since I can't imagine that many tunnel-dwelling humans who live on a diet predominantly of rat could achieve that kind of build.

I liked the T-600's with rubber skin in Salvation. Those were creepy. Wish they did more with that.

T1000 is experimental unit easily destroyed by energy weapons they have plenty of in the future. So it's "expensive" (time cost) to make for Skynet and easily destroyable. Makes sense there are only few of them to inflitrate bases through small structural openings and kill strategic targets before they are destroyed. If you are Skynet and the humans are zerging you to death you rather make 20 T600 warriors that can withstand energy weapons better than 5 T1000.

You *can* protect electronics against EMP, it's just expensive which is why the military doesn't bother too much except on essential systems linked to their own nuclear deterrant. Some infantryman or tankie who just got hit by a tactical nuke is fucked anyway, his radio burning out is the least of his worries.

No military would still be capable of fighting after a full-scale nuclear exchange even with hardened electronics, the infrastructure needed to supply units with fuel, food and ammunition wouldn't survive enough to enable offensive action, men would be deserting to find their families, their homeland would be a humanitarian disaster of unimaginable scale and all manpower would be needed for that.

In the novels though, one of the reasons Skynet didn't just immediately overrun the survivors of humanity after the bombs fells was due to how much of the tech got knocked out too, it nearly killed itself using the nukes but it was desperate because it was about to be switched off. Also one of the reasons it used human labour in the concentration camps rather than just exterminating any survivors it found; most of the pre-Judgement Day robotics, factories and high-end tech it could use directly had all been fried by EMP and it needed humans to build it new shit.

I'd love a movie set immediately after Judgement Day, maybe with Skynet impersonating a military command centre or something and gathering survivors together using faked radio transmission and shit, getting them to build the weapons it'll use to destroy them while Connor tries to convince people what actually happened.

As I'm rewatching Salvation, I think this takes Salvation into canon. The mixed girl is the mother of the little child of color hanging out with Kyle Reese in Salvation. If she wasn't there to help Kyle and Marcus, they wouldn't have been able to help John Connor ensure the future happens it is supposed to to change the past and make the future what it's supposed to be.

He did, but it wasn't HIS baby, so he obviously doesn't have the same attachment to it that it's creator(s) would. Those aren't his characters or his timeline. And if you hadn't noticed, it is no longer the canon timeline (but it should be).
