I had a really normal dream that me and my dad were building a garage together. Last night I had a dream that I was living in a post-apocalyptic world and I stumbled across a big wooden house. Some looters were just attacking the inhabitants and I decided to help them. It depends. I asked out one girl, who thought it was best we get to know each other first in non-romantic fashion. We didn't know each other that well back then, and I didn't have any plans to actually keep in contact after that. She did, however, as she kept talking to me. It was a little awkward for me at first, but since she is such a great person and handled the thing so well, I got over it.
Some months after that I thought she had changed her mind about me, because it really seemed like she was attracted to me. I asked her out again and she told me that it was best we remained just friends. Again, that was a little awkward and I felt pretty bad for getting friendzoned like that. However, today our relationship is far from awkward, even though we have this kind of history, because she is so skilled at dealing with people etc. Even if we never get together, I still enjoy being her friend and I like her very much.
I also have an opposite experience, but I think that is mostly because of the fact that this girl is not as great with people as the one I wrote about. Pretty much everything with her has been very awkward for the both of us, from me asking her out to her rejecting me, and everything after that. However, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
All in all, I think you have little to lose. Go for it. There are plenty of fish in the sea, and like I demonstrated, it is even possible that you asking them out will only make you better friends, even if she rejects you.
