It's not a bad movie. It's a really good movie.
young monk a cute. A CUTE.
Used to be my favorite movie when I was like 12.
it's not Battlefield:Earth bad, and it's not Neil Breen bad. it's just bad enough to be able to watch as a guilty pleasure.
what's bad about it OP?
In what way is it bad?
All the ways.
I love The Fifth Element. It's funny, has a cool as fuck setting, Gary Oldman, Bruce Willis before he started phoning it in, Milla Jovovich in her prime and Chris Rock or Chris Tucker or whoever is really awesome.
it's campy
It's a better comic book movie than most of the movies that have ever been based on actual comics. One of the most enjoyable watches of all time.
I like it.
what was it?
and how could it keep on making phone calls to Zorg?
why is that bad tho. it fits perfectly to the universe it's adapting.
there's nothing wrong with camp unless you're a self conscious adolescent
There's nothing bad about it
i didn't know it was based on existing ip before. sauce?
And what was the brown goo leaking out of Zorgs head
you're replying to a zoomer who probably watches garbage marvlel movies which wouldn't dare be campy but instead show they are self-aware of how dumb their content is by making cringeworthy self-referential quips every 5 seconds so they cant be accused of taking themselves seriously
Hair dye.
Unironically has the greatest worldbuilding of any stand alone sci fi film
He blew a blood vessel. Same as an anime character when talking to a girl.
It has the weird Eurotrash vibe, like the entire thing is ESL.
rewatched it recently for the first time since I was a kid. Still holds up well, it felt like a live-action episode of Bebop and the soundtrack is great. Also never realized that the nog who works for Zorg is UK trip-hop artist Tricky. when I was a kid I thought he was piloting that cockroach from the inside so it messed me up seeing someone apparently get killed so comically and nonchalantly
it ate up all the satellites
True, I watched Flash Gordon as an edgy 13 year old and found it totally stupid and badly made. Re-watched ten years later and absolutely love it since then.
Valerian
you're baiting me
The city sequence is sci fi kino
so is the opera scene
