YOU BLEACHED YOUR HAIR AND YOU PAWNED YOUR SKIS AND THEN YOU SOLD OUT FOR THE SHADE OF THE PALM TREE SCENE AND SAID, "OH, WHAT A DRAG! OH, WHAT A BACKWARDS SCHEME 'CAUSE HERE THINGS GO FROM GRAY TO GRAY AND BACK TO GRAY AGAIN AND THEY GET GREEN AND GO TO GRAY AND BACK TO GRAY AGAIN" SO HE SAID
They still put on a great live concert. Saw them about a year or so ago through some promotion bullshit that I got through work.
Landon Jenkins
How much of their old stuff do they play? This is a Long Drive, Lonesome Crowded West, and Interstate 8 EP are all god tier.
Are they one of those faggy bands that gets offended that fans like their older stuff more and deliberately refuse to play it much in live shows, or do they play a lot of old stuff?
Liam Carter
I'd think if anything they'd probably be more afraid to play old shit out of fear it might make Isaac relapse and start doing smack again.
Caleb Young
90% older stuff. They played for 2 and a half hours, there ending encore was them just half ass pretending to walk off the stage then turning right around to play more. They didn't play a single song from the last 2 or 3 albums. They played shit like The Fruit That Ate Itself, Ohio (because it was in Ohio), Styrofoam Boots, some shit off Sad Sappy Sucker. They really didn't disappoint. The ONLY thing they did to appease their normalfag "fans" was play Float On. Someone kept yelling Fire it Up and he just said no outright.
Noah Diaz
hah maybe but i've personally seen a musicians get butthurt that their fans prefer their old work.
Some of the songs were pretty good but the whole thing was just so over produced. Needs to get back to guitar/bass/drums instead of all that added shit.
Jacob Anderson
I agree, but it's about the only thing that got a reaction from the crowd. I'd guess maybe 10 percent of the people there knew more than that song.
Charles Phillips
This is one of those bands were everyone parrots the same opinion and keeps on about how their first three were the best and all thier new shit sucks. Hipster bullshit! I actually liked Strangers to Ourselves a whole lot. Still wonder what it would be like with Eric Judy though. This one is still my favorite though.
Jordan Cooper
>no float on >outright refusing fire it up
Fucking BASED. They were my favorite band back in high school and I had an opportunity to see them a couple years back then in 2009 and I didn't. If they ever come near me again I will catch the show for sure.
Xavier Nguyen
It's worth it, I was surprised. I was actually very worried about going to see them but it turned out 10/10. Tickets will almost certainly be cheap too.

Alexander Moore
That's it, I just decided to take ths on my drive tomorrow.
Charles Butler
>I'd guess maybe 10 percent of the people there knew more than that song.
That's disappointing, for me the crowd is a really important part of seeing live music and if they aren't "there" then generally speaking I'm not interested. Still I think I would make an exception for MM.
There is nothing hipster about acknowledging the fact that they touched genius with LCW, Long Drive, and Interstate 8. Moon and Good News were good/ok, Long drive was ok at best.
Ryan Butler
>tfw listened to Modest Mouse so much in hike school that I can't enjoy it as much anymore Help Billy
Jack Rodriguez
Modest Mouse is some of THE BEST driving music on the planet
Eli Campbell
The crowd will more than likely suck, but I was drunk and just ignored it. No avoiding it now though, especially with the venues they tend to play.
I've been playing Justice - Cross as driving music since it was released and can't stop.
Jaxon Russell
Same shit happened to me. I rinsed them so much in high school especially summer of senior year when I was 18 with my first real gf. I even took a few long drives to her empty parents place a state away to hang out with her and fuck. It was the perfect music for the time, just perfect. Then I basically didn't listen to them at all after that and 10 years later I'm getting back into them again.
Jordan Morales
some of the songs I find hard to listen to now because of periods I played them a lot, this one in particular youtube.com/watch?v=49Gz0Jfp-jI
Benjamin Richardson
I found them in early high school when everyone else was getting into poppy emo stuff and thought I was the coolest. Then Float On happened and everyone under the sun was like wow user, this is that band you have 15 shirts for, why didn't you tell me they were so good???
SOMETIMES ALL I REALLY WANT TO FEEL IS LOVE SOMETIMES I'M ANGRY THAT I FEEL SO ANGRY
Christian Sullivan
Interstate 8 is my favorite release from them ever. It has Sleepwalking, it has the better version of Novocain Stain, it has Edit the Sad Parts, It has the better version of Beach Side Property. I love that fucking EP.
Band shirts in high school man. I had an MM one I ordered off ebay that was only sold as Merch at a live concert a couple years before. Yeah I thought it was pretty damn cool.
I just looked at tickets for a show they are playing in my city in October but it's a huge civic center with only assigned seating. I hate that, it's got to be general admission floor tickets but damn I still want to see them.
>Interstate 8 is my favorite release from them ever me as well m8. The other song I really loved from it was Whenever you breathe out
Lucas Evans
I remember downloading this album and listening to it while working at a gun fair. Listening to it while hearing guns go off in the distance was oddly kino
Ryder Miller
They touched genius with Long Drive but it was okay at best? Anyways I would say Lonesome Crowded West is thier most over-rated album, not bad or anything, but probalby the one I return to the least.
Kayden Collins
Next time i need to start my drunken modest mouse post earlier, there aren't enough americans awake to participate.

I don't have enough to say beyond what I've said but I've been monitoring. Sorry drunk brotherman.
Alexander Thompson
based. alcohol and modest mouse, name a more iconic duo.
Henry Ortiz
I'm not drunk right now, I'm on a drinking break, but if I could be drunk, I'd most assuredly be listening to MM after this thread. Instead I'm going to go and watch Farscape, enjoy your nostalgia trip.
Matthew Myers
Homelessness and Modest Mouse. And staying at Motels with COLOR TV and cockroaches. Fucking perfect match.
Jonathan Anderson
hell yes modest mouse was so good and then so not good. still one of my favorite bands
