Are there any other directors who never made a bad film?
Are there any other directors who never made a bad film?
Jim Cam
The abyss was shit
Every second half of most of his films is shit.
Objectively wrong in every way imaginable. The Jim Cam prevails.
No.
Fear and Desire and Killer's Kiss were both dog shit
>Killer's Kiss
>Fear and Desire
>good
No.
Stanley Kubrick
James Cameron
Christopher Nolan
David Fincher
Denis Villeneuve

Barry Lyndon was overlong and boring.
Deal with it.
David Lean?
>fincher
>alien3

Nah

That wasn't his fault and you know it.
Kubrick did make a bad film (Fear and Desire is shocking).
The Coen brothers have never made a bad film. Just comapre their debut (Blood Simple) to Kubrick's.
It's a pleb 20year old redditor crying about the second part of fullmetal jacket situation again
Peter Weir

Clockwork Orange is shit
Intolerable Cruelty* and The Ladykillers were both shit.
* yeah I know.
Oh dear..
What's wrong with Raising Arizona?
Ladykillers is bad for the Coen's, but it's still decent by the standards of other filmmakers.
Bow
Nolan only has bad movies
>dabs on this thread, then buttfucks you
Yikes.
All garbage.
Based two device samefag
I disagree, but which ones?
All absolute trash.
True. Visconti is kino director.
>Nolan only has bad mo-
Wes Anderson
His only good film honestly.
They’re all absolute dogshit you mong
t. reddit contrarian
lolan
must be bait
>Not liking Nolans 0/10 dialog meme movies is now reddit
second half of Strangelove is objectively the best part
The dialogue in his movies is laughably amateur. If you actually think they are quality I'm sorry for you.
Nolan is pure reddit you fucking tourist.
John Carpenter
Dreyer
Tarkovsky
Cassavettes
Melville
Have you ever watched it? It's edgy 12 year old tier shit. Dreadful acting.
Gilliam
Roger Corman
I'd say Ghosts of Mars, but it's still pretty cool
True. Finally someone with taste.
Hu Bo
The acting is your gripe with Clockwork?
Todd Field
Only Full Metal Jacket applies
Maybe, if you are a brainlet
Terry Malick
Jim Jarmusch
Jean Vigo is the only one I can think of. Helps when you die young.
Michael Mann if you don't count his TV movies.
>Killer's Kiss
I thought it was okay, not bad per say.
>David Fincher
>He hasn't seen Aliens 3
I wish Little Children got more attention, the movie is great and deserves at least a bluray release.

tarkovsky is a literal god
Hmmmm I wonder who’s behind this post...
>when you ctrl-f Bresson and zero results
Where do I start with Tarakovsky?
Haven't seen all his films but having liked the ones I have, I'm going to go out on a limb and nominate Welles.
samurai jack
Based
Go chronologically.
Wonder Woman wasn’t good
based
Dur hur
Thanks guys. Stalker it is, followed by Solaris.
Yes
Not just the acting, but its just a shit films. Uninteresting, lame attempt to shock the viewer, trying way too hard to be weird. The setting is awful, just an eyesore. I get what its supposed to be, but there are better ways of portraying it
Lolita wasn't very good. Great acting, shitty script.
Correct
I would have liked to see his original unmolested by the studio version.
Tarantino?
Uncut Gems looks like kino.
Forgot pic.
Dr Zhivago is sub par
Kill Bill and Death Proof are shit. Jackie Browne is his only kino
>never made a bad film
>OP has never seen Day of the Fight, Flying Padre, Fear and Desire, The Seafarers, Killer's Kiss, The Killing, Paths of Glory, Spartacus, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut or A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Beat me to it.
The Stranger is bad. Apparently that's due to studio meddling but idgaf
He's looking more kikey everyday
It's his least good, most conventional film, but it's still watchable. I haven't seen it in 20 years though.
Yeah outside of the Oscar and Golden Globe noms it didn't really get much recognition and slipped out of everyone's radar. I really enjoyed In the Bedroom as well. Just solid pure drama.
Panic Room isn't a bad movie aside from Jared Leto acting like some weird amalgamation of a wigger, a pimp and a gangster. It's nothing remarkable, but it's not a bad film.
Le Samourai is boring as fuck
>what is the Canyons
Pic related on the other hand...
Mel Gibson
t. capeshitter
If I were you I’d start with Solaris because it’s the easiest one to get into. Andrei Rublev is definitely my favorite though.
I mean if i want to watch PS2 cutscenes i will play some PS2 game.
Faggot
>Kill BIll
>shit
el oh el
it'll be the only thing Tarantino will be remembered for in a century
>no Sergio Leone
Fucking PLEBS!
Maybe read the thread.
>read the picture
Titanic and Avatar exist. Also Piranha II.
Yes. Learn to read.
The new Star Trek film looks good.
Try again, buddy.
>Tarantino will be remembered for ripping off better Japanese and HK movies
I think you might be right
YOU FORGOT THE DARK KNIGHT
mhmhmhmhmfdhmhmhmh chammpaaaaaaaaagne
Martin McDonagh. Refute this.
Criminally Underrated
Leone
Thats not enough to make it a bad film
True beyond words.
Most coen brothers movies are just OK. Lebowski, llewyn Davis, buster Scruggs sucked ass
Kubric is a genius. Simply put, I never understood 2001, I was always looking for meaning in each scene, it was only after I read an interview from Kubric saying its meant more to be interpreted like a music video that I fell in love with it.
