Jafar was a weak villain all right, and he made the final act really anti-climatic.
They changed Jasmine way too much. Her arc in the original was about love and being forced to marry someone she didn't want to. Her arc in this one was about ruling the city, for some reason she felt the urge to do her people better after seeing two poor people in the street when she went out of the palace for the first time in a decade, and for some reason everyone thought she would be a natural at it based on nothing.
Aladdin was good, Will Smith was actually really fun, and the songs were fantastic.
