It didn't work, what makes the show unique is that it doesn't constantly moralize about the way he chooses to live his life.

It's definitely HBO quality, though they weren't allowed to use the word fuck. It's funny because of the absurd amount of things they got past the FX censors.

It didn't work, but the writers scrapped him as an actively gay character because of Michael Jace. He became less and less relevant on the show, and I can't even remember his subplots aside from being a temporary Strike Team member in the final season.
