Honestly one of the best of last year

im really into space kinos but i read the synopsis and it said something about it being the point of view of armstrong and how it affected his family and shit which led me to believe its some sappy drama shit. whats the movie like? any good? would rec or nah

The new Apollo 11 documentary was also great.

best launch scene off all time

Plot wise it's a disjointed mess with a lot of unnecessary scenes. Some parts are extremely well made though, the opening sequence is superb and there's some impressive sound work throughout the film.

got any torrent links? fucking idiots wouldnt release it in european cinemas.

Most underrated film in recent history

Yea I really wanted to see it, it's on most streaming sites I think.

b-but muh flag planting that was actually there after all anyway!!!

soi propaganda

I would definitely agree that some of the family scenes were a bit pointless, even if the film is one of my favorites of all time

Everything and anything related to the missions and NASA is absolute elder-god tier kino though

>soi propaganda

I didn't even know about half the shit that happened

Considering how Armstrong really kept to himself in real life I enjoyed all the family stuff. Might not be fully accurate, but it helps create a picture of a man that did something great and then stepped back out of the spotlight. Unlike Buzz who really plays up the fact he went to the moon, not to say he's not cool, but he's become well known unlike Armstrong.

Definitely agree on the sound comment. They really got into some great detail through the movie for that.

Saw that last week. I was blown away by the shots they had in archive footage. NASA really went all out for that launch. Probably the best documentary I've ever seen, and it was basically all shot 50 years ago.

They barely released it in theaters here too. Outside big cities they had no screens and the ones that did show it only carried it for like 2 weeks. I guess space doesn't sell anymore.

>also Yea Forums last year: FUCK CHAZELLE HE'S A HACK. FORCED DIRECTING REEEE

Apollo 13 was better

Faggot shit movie didn't even land the astronauts on the fucking moon.

Go be gay somewhere else.

Speaks volumes about the quality last year. This was 8/10 at most.

Whiplash > La La Land >>> First Man

I liked Green Book more, and probably the most of that year. Glad it won

Fucking amazing movie.

The Gemini 8 scene was so fucking good. Goddam balls of pure steel.

would have been great if it wasn't so anti-american and globalist
>checks director's ethnicity
oh my shock

i skipped this because director has history of race mixing

>actually being one of those faggots who ate up the "b-b-but it's anti-American propaganda!!!11" without watching the movie

Fucking kek.

Fantastic music was the big surprise, really hit the spot.
It's got a substantial dose of the family drama stuff but I don't think it detracts to the overall product. There is also payoff for that.
The actual mission scenes make up for any shortfall x1000.
Really wish I'd seen it in the cinema.

It's fucking garbage, literally a shitty move with garbage direction
Why is this board 100% wrong

It's fucking trash, holy shit kids do you only watch Gosling flicks, fuck off

Fuck off stonefag La La Land, Birdman and everything Gosling has been in besides only god forgives and br2049 is shit

Cringe

i'm a tard

Don't worry champ, there's going to be plenty more marvel capeshit for you to enjoy.

I dont like marvel movies or capeshit
Congratulations on thinking if someone doesnt like pure dogshit they must like stinky old dogshit

You have some absolutely cancerous taste, Gosling and his wife in the movie were fucking terrible

>I dont like marvel movies or capeshit
there's no backtracking gayboy

It was great, although I didn't like that they used Super 8mm to film some of the ground shots.

They did remove American flag patches from the uniforms, didnt include the flag planting (this one is optional), they absolutely downplayed the Americana surrounding it.

But they did include "Whitey on the Moon" to make the nigs seem like the ungrateful drain on society that they are, so I have to give the director credit.

Chazelle is a hack just like anyone involved in capeshit, Einstein.

>They did remove American flag patches from the uniforms
why lie?

so why do you love capeshit so much then?
you can't explain it

I don't why do you project that someone must like capeshit if they don't like some talentless jewish director who makes shitty flicks and has no chops
the capeshitters and redditors on this board are the ones who like such trash reddit directors like Chazelle

Oh, God don't tell me you're still talking about that. Literally the most boring topic related to this movie. How boring you have to be?

I remember this bait. Someone claimed that they removed the flags from the uniforms. Of course in reality they used the picture from the first scene with the New Nine. That would be 1962 and flags first appeared during Gemini 4 in 1965. As I always say they only pretend to care. They don't know anything about the story.

but you reddo guys love capeshit?
this should be right up your alley

Reddito loves Chazelle and capeshit
Get a clue autist

Nice. I think the moonwalking scenes are wonderfuly remastered and look as good as they possibly can (yes even if they found "original" tapes they didn't look high definition yet some people aparently think they did).
The First Man didn't do so well but between this and Apollo 11 I really want more. There's Searching for Skylab, another documentary but mostly independent and I can't find it anywhere. I wish someone would make another miniseries.
