It was really just disposable trash after all. Shame, saw it in the cinema, would always get excited to watch it on TV but it's just not a good movie. It has some good parts in it at least.

Used to hate it, rewatched it in theatres a few weeks ago during the Batman series re-release. Honestly I really enjoyed it, if we ever get a proper director's cut (and if the fan edits are anything to go by) then the film could go from good to great.

Nolan redid the party scene between Catwoman and Batman but gave Selina a mask during the dance which ruined the symbolism. Plus Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway lack the chemistry and raw sexual tension of Keaton and Pfeiffer.

I'll say it, Batman Forever is the best one.

It's the second best after Burton's Batman. I used to rewatch it a ton back in the day. But Returns and Batman and Robin is such shit tho. Oddly enough Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher were ok Batman directors but man they couldn't have lightning strike twice I guess. But maybe that was down to executive meddling.

Naw it's mostly Bruce not wanting to be Batman and killing clowns (not very non kill code there) but with no Joker around. No wonder Nolan masterbates to it too, which btw the Nolan trilogy sucks balls also but TDK has some ok scenes like on the bomb trapped boats. Honestly the only redeemable Batman movies are BM1, BMF (kinda decent with some memes) and TDK. The rest is shit if you don't count the memes from TDKR of course.

Fuck you the scenes where the circus mourns the Graysons on the floor of the big top is one of the best sequences in the Batman films especially seeing the horror and shock on Bruce's and Dick's faces on seeing them fall from above. Also when Dick suddenly pulls Bruce out of the rubble after Two Face's explosion is another great scene. Plus Dick fighting that neon punk gang as he joyrides in the Batmobile. Heck how he fools Alfred to get into the Batcave by his elaborate acrobatics too. Just writing this I wanna go watch Batman Forever now. Can't say the same for Returns and Batman and Robin however those would be a slog to go thru desu. People with decent taste prefer Forever, shit taste like Returns or the Nolan trilogy.

It's a good film if you take it as a comedic, light-hearted, self-aware capeshit film and not some try-hard work of cinematic art like Nolan's films attempted to be.

He still really is the threat though. He's dangerous from the very beginning and really only loses because he gives in to the coin toss. Riddler wouldn't be able to do what he did without Harvey's muscle. I like the fact that Robin wants to kill him only to change his mind and thereby gets fucked over. If Riddler hadn't decided on that CHOOSE YOUR FRIEND challenge at the end Dent would've simply tossed a coin and shot them in the head and would've won. Nygma needed Dent but Dent didn't really need Nygma. Honestly despite Jones slightly off putting performance his Two Face is one of the most formidable of screen Bat villains at least.

People shit on Tommy Lee Jones for his Two Face but he was earlier just as loony and unrestrained as the warden in Natural Born Killers too. It's not like he hadn't done it before. If it was good enough for Oliver Stone's and Tarantino's vision it would be good enough for Schumacher. Plus compared to eventually what Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman gave us he wasn't that bad.
