Anyone else feel bad for them? It's not like a different CGI design is going to save the movie from bombing, the Detective Pikachu movie had great public reception and still fell flat on its face. They should've just shoved it out like they planned to and not wasted money or artists' lives on unnecessary crunch.

The people blamed and people doing the fixing aren't the ones responsible for the design, it's all on the director/art director/creative design/committee/whatever the fuck. The (probably SEA) artists doing the grunt work had nothing to do with it.

Look you are probably working for the studio, im going to be honest it looks like complete shit even for a "kids" movie, Jim Carrey looks souless, the dude from Westworld is a good lead and that black bitch is fine as hell but other than that you are going to lose a lot of money.
The only positive quality is that it can generate memes, kids only care about that so after you fix the Sonic look throw in more songs like Gangsta's Paradise WE LIKE THAT.

I find it funny that they waited waaaaay too long to reveal the design, and now they have to redo a huge chunk of the film. If they posted a picture of the design the moment they approved it, got appropriately shat on, and then decided to redesign him, it would've saved them a fuckton of money.

I love Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but every other Animated/Live Action combo after has to add those extra shaders even if they're not in the detective noir genre like Space Jam or this shit.
