With how much they've diverged from the source material they're ALLEGEDLY adapting, they could have just made a completely new series.

Is real medieval armour just not good enough or something? You never see hack costume designers try to re-interpret modern military equipment, but it's like a suit of plate or chain is "too generic" and they need their own fucked up dollar store unique take on it.

I think these are the Nilfgaardian soldiers Ciri sees in her nightmares, there's even the Black Night in one of the pics. That's the only explanation about the armors looking like shit, because it's the nightmare sequence, but if this is what they're going to actually look like, fucking disappointing.

That's obviously preproduction. The final version of the armor will likely be touched up with CGI or other visual effects to look more authentic
