I just started the series recently and I can't stand the fight scenes because of the ridiculous number of jump-cuts. I know they can't get it right in one cut, but they keep changing the camera angle every second. How is this enjoyable? Don't they have choreographers or something?
Anyone else find the fight scenes in GoT unwatchable?
You literally posted the best one
its literally one of the worst
>watch the 'Cleganebowl' to see what the fuck the gotfags are on about
>10 camera cuts per seconds
Let's be honest here: the last few seasons and ending retroactively ruin everything that came before so why are you bothering?
90% of modern hollywood fight scenes are garbage for these reasons.
Well I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit, but this seems to bother me. It's weird they need such a ridiculous number of jump-cuts considering the actors seem to be pretty well-trained here:

I'm not even asking for the whole fight to be one scene.
The clothing and armor make it shit, I don't expect actors to be stuntmen. Just show them closing their visors before the fight, make sure they wear distinctive crests like Bobby B, or differently colored tabards. Get Scott Adkins to stand in. Instant meleekino.
Why the fuck can't they get it right in one cut
this show has never done 1v1s particularly well, at least the hound and brienne fight had some oomph to it.
I hate jump cuts too but some of the fights on the show were surprisingly good. Jorah tanking the Dothraki with his plate was kino and John snow had some decent choreography vs a wight in season 1 and the white walker at Hardholm. Also Bronn using strategy vs the vale knight and Jamie stabbing the Northman with his offhand dagger were both interesting.
Bronn vs. Ser Vardis and The Hound vs. Beric are the only watchable fights in the show. Oberyn vs. The Mountain would have been good if not for all the pointless spinning.
Vikings is well past its prime but still managed to produce much more believable fights at a fraction of GoT's budget.
>Don't they have choreographers or something?
I wondered this same thing during all of the Sand Snake fight scenes. I never thought GoT fights were extra good before that, but they were passable. That shit just felt like I was watching bad larpers playfighting in a local park though, rather than a TV series with millions and millions of dollars behind it.
you know it's shit when every half a second there's another cut
the terrible fight scenes are why I don't understand how even big brainlets praise Battle of the bastards or hardhome. it's fucking unwatchable to me.
even blackwater is pretty difficult to watch and there is really only a few minutes of weapon swinging but that few minutes is painful as fuck
More like a choreography that barely looks cool when there isn't a bloody camera cut every 2 seconds.
No, i wish shows could show real techniques when showing sword fights. I'm sick and tired of seeing the same damn 360° turns for the fanboys.
The fight starts at 05:50 you retard
Cleganebowl was the most disappointing
A little. You know IRL, that they'd have daggers, ready to immobilize their opponents via slicing/stabbing their knees/thighs/calf; then use their swords to finish them. @ 1:28 in this vid is realistic;

Brienne howling like a literal retard ruins every fight she's in.
The whole show is trash and not worth your time at all after s1, just stop now
I find Brienne's fights scenes are fine if you put them on mute
Even when she swings at Arya like a foot above her head and Arya ducks anyway?
Jackie chan should direct every fight scene in every movie
Yeah you're right. The fights really are shit. Ned vs Jaime is the best one
It's almost like most actors suck at athletic and physical activities and directors have to constantly disguise it or something
It's your standard Hollywood shit with a bunch of cuts.
lol wtf is this shit even real?
Game of Thrones was never about fights so I never minded
Brienne vs Hound is the best fight though
It actually has impact felt in it, especially when he kicks her in the Vag and then she starts going beast mode on him with punches and a rock
Way better than Cleganebowl
What makes you say that?
Just have them wear helmets and make stunt men do the fighting
Wasn't Bill Hobbs on the show then? You'd get better results from the guy that worked on Duellists, Rob Roy and Excalibur.
actors want camera time
Real Duels don't last long go watch a John Wick if you want fastcuts.
>Just started
>Can't stand the fight scenes
Oh boy you better stop now then
actually looks like the sand snek on the right forgot to parry his blow at the end of the gif so they edited it with cg to compensate
