Can someone explain why the FUCK they still obeyed Dany after Drogo was a vegetable and even dead? It was clearly established early on that the Khal is the strongest warrior, and a Khal that cannot ride his horse is not a Khal. There was no reason for them to care about him at that point, sympathy and compassion was not a part of Dothraki culture.

Partly because they were hoping he would get better (or feared what he would do to them if they abandoned him and he got better), partly because even if sympathy and compassion aren't a part of it honour and loyalty still is. Bloodriders are basically family, and they didn't want to just immediately abandon him; everyone else was too pussy to act against them. As soon as they decided enough was enough, the rest followed. Look at it this way, if Genghis Khan fell ill would you want to be the first dude to betray him?
